Mayfield wins but by about two touchdowns. Russellville will have trouble with our offense. Now 64, you messed up when you posted this. It should read #2 Russellville @ #1 Mayfield. Get your posts fixed.

Mayfield 28
Russellville 21

Mayfield wins this one , but would love to see Russellville put a running clock on this bunch .
#7
That sounds familiar.

Jealous? No not at all . Between playing , coaching , & just watching high school football over the past 35+ yrs , Mayfield last yr was probably the worst sportsmanship , & classlessness i have ever witnessed particularly the fans , & adults at that . I think they need to be knocked back down a bit

Are you kidding. We emptied the bench for you guy the whole 4th quarter. I don't think anyone disrespected y'all. That is even after your big fullback kicked 1 of our freshmen twice in the face because he recovered a fumble.

If you read what i said correct i said particularly the fans , & adults in general. Before , during , & after the game . I did talk with coach Morriss after the game , & he apologized for behavior of a couple of players , & fans which i was talking about . I will say i think he is a stand up classy guy himself . What i typed i agree i shouldnt have because i shouldnt want the kids to suffer so i do send my apology for such classless quote from myself , just think others have a lot to learn about class in Mayfield

Well I guess that is one opinion. Enjoy the rest of the season. Have a nice day and God bless.

Mayfield 42
Russellville 29

I think it stays close for awhile and tbh would love to see the upset. But mayfield is too complete of a team. Hoping i am wrong bit i think Mayfield is still too much.

Mayfield will put a running clock on you before that ever happens.:ChairHit:

Talon, why don't we ask the Raceland fans just how rude we were to you all last year. They should be able to tell us, since there were a lot of them there. There were many on our side sitting with us. Several wearing letter jackets even. I understand when one gets beat it tends to upset them with the team that beat them but, I really do not see any of our fans pouring salt in the wound. We have landed in the state finals 18 times and half of those did not go so well for us. I know that we know what it feels like to lose.

This game doesn't really matter, since I see a storm brewing in the Cards for you guys. It may happen the day after Halloween, but Princeton is going to be a very scary place for anybody not wearing Blue and Gold.[Image: http://khongthe.com/wallpapers/animals/a...245785.jpg]

Now, Killer don't get ahead of yourself. This game matters more than the game we have upcoming against your Tigers. Don't make me have to turn on your guys a week earlier than I want to. I hope to only root against you guys for one week. Now, you guys may get by us this year. I don't think so though. I think the problem you guys will have against us will be the same problem you had against us last year. Hard to do much accurate passing when you are running for your life. Remember you will be playing against one of the fastest defenses you will see when you see the Cards.

When was the last Cardinals loss at War Memorial?

Hahaha thats funny , like a Ram would ever take the side of an Eagle . The issue started before the game to an extent security had to step in , & escourt some MF fans out , & these particular fans chose to come over to our side of the stadium

That is funny because I entered on the Fairview side. I was the first person in line. I did not see anything like this. Besides that, 1-2 people don't make up the entire fan base. I do know there was a guy outside the fence on the Fairview side with a bicycle that was wearing red and claiming to be for Mayfield. He wasn't even from our area. I know most people in this county, due to my job, and I have never even seen that man. I am not saying for sure that he is the person you are talking about, but it is possible. He was the one that was passing off m&m's to the girls checking the tickets. This has to be the first time that I have heard of any of our fans being removed from the game. I can assure you that in a small town like this, I would have heard about that by now. I probably would have heard about it before I got home, being that I escorted the team back.

Back to the topic at hand. How do offenses and defences vary? I know Mayfield is always fairly balanced offensively. How does Russellville run theor systems?
#22
Mayfield is pretty much from the spread on offense. We do run the ball more than most teams do out of the spread though. We are pretty balanced this year, where in the past we were more run oriented, due to the great Jonathan Jackson. We have seemed to feel the void he left fairly well though.

Russellville runs an offense that we are very familiar with, the wishbone. Why are we familiar with it you ask? That is because, we ran that offense primarily until 2006. The other reason is, their coach is one of our former asst coaches and is a great guy. He runs a very disciplined and well regimented team. I understand they are very good at hiding the ball in the offensive scheme and our boys will have to stay home and play assignment ball.

This should be a great game and I am excited. I wish it was Friday at about 6:45PM right now.

The Cardinals have now won 22 straight

The Cardinals have also won 37 straight at home dating back to the dreadful 2008 season.
#24
I couldn't remember how long it had been since we lost at home. The shame is that the 2008 team had lots of talent. They just could not get along together and it turned into a bust.

The problems I witnessed at last years state title massacre were coming on the field from Fairview's players. We have played in like 18 title games and I have been to them all and I can't ever recall a dirtier team than Fairview. Like the 2nd or 3rd Cards TD when the Fairview kid throws our player who scores out of bounds in the end zone way after the whistle. He was rewarded with a flag. But the worst was late in the 3rd after Mayfield started subbing. The big Fairview back gets tackled then purposly steps on the hand of a Cardinal sub who was still on the turf and he then twist his leg to try and inflict pain on purpose. I hope Fairview can learn to control their emotions but I have to wonder if they are not just mocking what they see. I fear the adm. and other adults around the program are sending the wrong messages given the win at all cost attitude we are hearing about the program. One that also has a bad reputition of trying to bring in kids from out of distict or state to try and win. Just a shame, a real shame

It was bad, 6-5 or 6-6 I think, really never had been that bad of a season in my lifetime

JJ's dad pointed this out to me. I did not pay any attention to it until he said it. The very first touchdown of the game, the same kid that got the flag on the 3rd touchdown hit JJ late. It's true, I got it on film. Then the time he hit him real late with a forearm shiver and got 15 yards. Then the other one that stands out was when Colby Tucker (freshmen then) recovered a fumble late, the big fullback kicked him not once but twice right in the fase mask. If you want to doubt these go back and look at the film. I don't think a Mayfield fan one has complained about these things once until someone said that we were disrespectful. I do not like being disrespectful to anyone, because of the way I was raised and because we have been on the loosing side before and it don't feel real good.
#28
Yeah, 08 was the year we lost to Crittendon Co twice. They didn't even make it to state. I hope we don't ever get in the habit of that again.
