About what I expected. Grats PCC

Congrats on the win Coach Haddix. I think with Perry Central's talent level being down this year, plus all of the injuries they have endured, and the fact they are winning games, speaks volumes of Coach Haddix. I knew the bobcats would be down this year, but I didn't think it would be this bad. No running game, QB is very inconsistent, no defense, and I could go on and on. If things don't turn around quick, the bobcats could realistically finish 3rd in one of the weakest districts in the state, and possibly only winning one more game this season.

Congrats to Perry C. On a good win. This a another tough one to watch.Breathitt is not very good, defense is terrible, no running game.It looked like White got sacked 20 times, he is fighter but his skill level is pretty low.You have to wonder what Moore is thinking at times,if your down 14 to 7 at the end of the half and run the clock out ...well ..it looks like you don't have much faith in your offense..I understand he is in tough spot, but you have to start putting some blame on the coaching staff..I guess no one in Jackson really cares much anymore anyway...What a shame to see this program in this bad of shape so quick, there is no excuse for this..

I have said this since last year no surprise to me no actually I have said said this since the seniors last year were freshman that when they graduate Breathitt would be weak and not worth crap for no telling how long! They have no feeder program and nobody wants to play anymore wake up people why do you think Coach Holcomb left I knew he was leaving at the first of the year last year! Not that he's fairing much better at LCC.
But he knew he didn't have a prayer after he graduated those 16 seniors they were the heart and soul of that team! No matter who the Coach is you can't teach a player to have heart and want to win so don't blame the Coaches these boys just don't have any heart they never did that's why I don't go anymore I've known this for a while!

I made the trip to Jackson to watch this game. Let me tell you it was brutal to watch. I don't know if I've ever seen a BHS team with less heart. The O and D line got whipped all night. These guys just go through the motions. Not to mention no fundamentals. Don't even get me started on the defense. I've seen harder hits in the lingerie league.

It doesn't help White when the defense is in the backfield as soon as the ball is snapped. I'm not confident that Breathitt will win another game that they should with Clay, Knott and Magoffin on the road.

I guarantee Coach Holcomb didn't leave because of the talent level. He's weathered the storm before. There are a lot of counties that do not have grade school sports until middle school but they have youth leagues. Breathitt may need to look into a youth league and not flag football. Those kids usually don't fool with football when they put on the pads. They need to put kids in pads at an early age.

What happened with the Grigsby kid from P-Purg. If White isn't getting it done, why not give this kid a chance. I don't know a whole lot about the kid or his skill set, but I have heard he was a solid QB for Prestonsburg's JV team last year.

Congrats to Coach Haddix in a homecoming win!! Great job

You have to put blame on someone for Breathitt's poor performance, and there's plenty to go around.I don't like blame the kids, or coaches. Allot has happened here over the past year and everyone new things would be tough. There is no question White is struggling, its a big play or nothing..As far as Grigsby goes I have seen him play linebacker and on special teams.I don't know why the haven't given him any reps at QB, you would think there would come a time when the coaches would start thinking about the future....

Congrats PCC......

Congrats to the Dores on the win.

They scored the go-ahead TD with 7 seconds on the clock.

I've seen some dumb posts on here, but I believe it's gone just about as far as it can go. I'm not going to bash the kids and talk about their lack of talent because I know some of the kids personally and know that there actually is some talent on that squad and probably much more so than people realize or will ever see. I know they have a lot of seniors but they have only 2 or 3 guys that have ever played a down of meaningful football in high school, they might as well be a team of freshmen. The man for the job is at the helm. Holcomb left because the state guy wouldn't tell him what he would be doing this year; meaning he was afraid they were going to make him work period, end of discussion, heard that from his own mouth. He let it get to this point by being one of Arch Turner's cronies and now BHS is paying for it. In order for Breathitt to return to its once glorious days it's going to take coach Moore. A young guy that was there in the hay day and help to build the program from the ground up and also a guy who's willing to put in the effort that it's going to take to renew a feeder program. If you're going to knock on the this guy and his team this early in the season and in his career with what has gone on here then you have issues that may require seeing a specialist.

If you think Breathitt is down this year and they are, just wait till next year.. 4 out of the 5 starting O Line are seniors. Their best Receiver is a senior. Their best player on defense #36 is a senior. Not to mention their starting QB and running back. So far its been a disaster this season, but its nothing compared to what its going be in the next couple years. I believe in Coach Moore but its going be very difficult. Good luck the rest of the season Bobcats!

I agree 100% with your statement. It would not matter who the coach would have been this year the results would have been the same. Breathitt is going to be down the next couple of years, the middle school program is pathetic right now. We have 6 freshmen right now in the ninth grade football class. The past few years the middle school has been on a downward spiral. Last season the 7th and 8th grade season was cancelled mid season. You can't have a successful high school program if you have no middle school program to bring talent in year after year. The grade schools are in decent shape, but overall we have to get our feeder programs back on track. Breathitt is going to have to be rebuilt from the ground up. Coach Moore is the right man for the job, it's just going to take time to get the program back to were it was.

Thanks, Dr. Phil. You, yourself just referred to the team as a "team of freshman." As far as Coach Moore "building the program from the ground up", smoke you another one. The program is 40 years old. There are a lot more guys than Coach Moore that has made the program what it is. Given the comments that you made about Coach Holcomb, I'm guessing you didn't get a lot of playing time at BHS. End of discussion.

As a Belfry fan, this thread makes me sad.

Hey if you think going from 1-10 with a whopping OT win against the dominant team of Knott Co. in the early 90's to 42 straight wins and two state championships isn't the ground up, then I guess that's your opinion, although I guess I would have to disagree with your primitive assessment (in other words that means your dumb). As far as my playing time, lol, I had plenty of it and see no need to defend myself with talking about how good I was (Although if you'd like to send me a private message or whatever I have no problem letting you know who I am and you can check the records for yourself). Hey, I think Holcomb was a great coach, I have to second guess some of his play calling just like everyone that has ever watched a ballgame, but as far as preparing a team and practicing, I think he is probably one of the best around and his record shows, but I felt toward the end he made decisions that allowed the program to take the downward slide on which it is today and feel that the program needs coach Moore more than coach Moore needs the program especially at this time.

I second that.

It especially bothers me considering Sheldon Clark is so down as well. Those are two very strong programs over the past 20 years who seem to be on the verge of being non-competitive for at least 2-3 years.

He most concerning thing mentioned in here is about Breathitt's Middle School and only having 6 Freshman players. That is a death sentence right there.

Here's hoping Moore gets enough patience and resources from everyone else in Breathitt County to get the ship righted from the ground up.I rather enjoy the Belfry vs. Breathitt post-season rivalry and it has been very beneficial in the growth of the Belfry program.
