Final
Pikeville gets a TD late in the game. I knew Pikeville would have to play a good game to beat East...the Panthers fall to 0-2 on the season.

Pikeville may have started out 0-2, but you got to give them props facing teams like this, I'm sure when Districts roll around they'll be just fine. I believe they have PBurg next so there may be a win for the Panther nation.

I agree they will be fine but they got to show some drastic improvement on offense to beat good teams...the Panthers are still my pick to win Region 4. They need a win next week against Pburg but once again it won't be easy.

congrats EJ...good luck next week P-ville against P-burg next week

yeah it doesnt matter that they are 0-2 right now, they will STILL RUN THE TABLE in district play, even without Mayo. They'll be ok, they'll just have to make adjustments, and theyve played a very tough schedule.

This is the difference with Coach Jackson. The man would rather lose and not worry about trying to go 10-0 to try to have his team ready to make a run at the State. I applaud Coach Jackson. And I really think that Pikeville made a VERY good showing against both teams. I mean in reality, well against Henry Clay anyways, he knew he would be 0-1 and it would have taken an almost PERFECT game to beat East Jessamine, so he knew that the odds were good that the Panthers would be at 0-2 at this point. Does he care ...NO..He is wanting to see what his team is made of..because great teams overcome starts like this and it shows when it counts..

yeah, i agree with you, he's not padded his schedule to run his record up, but when you think about it, Pikeville rarely does. The district games usually are the easy part of the schedule, lol...they'll be ok

I agree good post...Pikeville does need to improve a lot on offense though but they will get better every week...This team has a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs.

It sounded as if they really layed down against EJ and didn't compete, which is very unusual for Pikeville teams.

I've had several concussions from back in my playing days...crap I even hit a boy one time so hard I went cross eyed for about an hour...having a concussion is scarey at first. My most recent one was back in 2003 when I played in the Hatfield McCoy bowl, it was like my 4th one. To this day I still cannot remember how I got to the field or anything that happend in that game. IDK if this is a side effect from it or not, but it seems like now that I've been through all them it has made my memory not near as good as what it once was. I used to be able to pick up on things real quick, and memorize a book by just looking at it once, well those days are long and gone. I just hope whatever decission Mayo and his family make is the right one. Football is just a game but when you put your future health at risk its another. Even though I loved playing the game in HS and College, I look back and wish that I'd hung them up earlier because I'm dealing with all the carnage that I went through now.
