PHELPS, Ky. (WYMT) -- He played high school football at Phelps and now he is the head football coach at his alma mater. Randy smith is taking over the Hornets program.

Smith will have his hands full. Phelps did not win a game last season. In fact, nine out of the 10 teams that played them scored more than 42 points each game.

Phelps will open its season up at home against jenkins on Aug. 23 at home.

How far back was it when this team went 7-3.

I know that year they were defeated by Pikeville, but can not remember the two other teams that got them in the regular season.

1998. Hazard and Lynn Camp were the other losses. 7-2 regular season and beat some pretty good teams.
