LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Three Kentucky football players are leaving the program. On Thursday, UK confirmed that receivers Bookie Cobbins and DeMarcus Sweat are departing, along with defensive back Sterling Wright.

Cobbins, from New Orleans, sat out his freshman season as a redshirt. He came to UK as a quarterback, but quickly moved to wide receiver because of his athletic ability.

Cobbins played in two games last season.

Sweat was one of the Wildcats' most exciting players last season. As a freshman, Sweat caught four passes for 84 yards, but two went for touchdowns. He also returned 25 kickoffs for an average of 20.5 yards per return.

Sweat is from Lithonia, Ga.

The school also confirmed that defensive back Sterling Wright was leaving. Wright redshirted last season. He is Miami.
