One of Whitley better season.
I wish the district and region tournaments were played in series.
Since Corbin pitched Goins, South will most likely run rule them, as they would any other team in the region without there best pitcher.
I thought overall Whitley was a better team, and still do, but they just couldnt hit Goins this year. Good luck to Corbin the rest of the way.
Hopefully Whitley can build off this year. Only two seniors and a 21-11 season is a good thing.

I think youd also have to give them the edge of Knox, who they run ruled last week in 5 innings. Not to mention they threw a no hitter against them....
When i look back on the year, I think Whitley falls behind South, North, and Harlan County.
I think there even with Corbin, Mboro, and Clay.

Didn't Knox beat M'boro in their only matchup and took 2 of 3 from Clay this year? Held South to a 1-0 game at South. Down to North 2-1 through 4 or 5 before losing at North 5-1. Lost to Corbin at Corbin on a very controversial call at end of the game 3-2. Don't be so quick to just disregard them come game time, if you do, you just may be watching the next game instead of playing. Youth has reared its ugly head a few times with Knox, but underestimate them and they can beat you. The Whitley game isnt an indication of the ability of Knox, Rose threw a super game and Knox played like the Bad News Bears, throwing the ball all over the field. Knox should be considered a darkhorse come region, if you choose to not throw a good pitcher against them, you may be in trouble, then again, you may beat them by 20. Just depends if they come ready to play or not.

Its going to be interesting to see how the region draw turns out.
