Newport Central Catholic @ Belfry

Who wins? Why? How? What a great first game for both of these teams.

I will explain why and how later, but my prediction is

NCC - 24
Belfry - 10
#2
It may be an even bigger spread than that 98NCCALUM, with Bowe out.

If NCC wins it will be close and low scoring if Belfry wins, same thing. This game could go either way with a 17-14 score but I really cant pick a winner.

I think that NCC has the better team, but I will pick the upset and stick with myEKY roots.

Belfry wins in a very close game 21 to 14. Belfry will play ball control and control the clock. Home field advantage will also play a role in this game. I do look for this to be a great game for both teams. It will be interesting to see what a factor the injury to Bowe will play in this game. Both teams have a successful history and will put it all on the line when they meet. I am ready and I am sure many more are for this season to start. I hope to make the 4 1/2 hour trip for this home game.

Belfry will when because of the hard nose running they do the whole game ! There O-Line is always big and the defense is quick and so are the Defensive backs ! I'd say Belfry by 1 TD !

i think i'll go with NCC. 24-7.. Belfry will be good again.. maybe not state champs good, but good nonetheless. But i think NCC will just be too much for them for the first game of the season
I'm in love with Tawnya.. hehe..

I thinkl that this willl be one of the better week one match ups of week #1 but I look for NCC to take the game from a very very tough Belfry team.

don't know much about ncc but belfry won't have a Qb/Cb
#12
I think it's pretty laughable to think that if Belfry or any team for that matter to have an injured player that it's an automatic win for the opponent.

I would love to hear your reasoning for your score.

probably cause with matt maynard gone, you are left with someone that has to fill some big shoes.. and i may be wrong, but there isn't anyone left with that kind of speed.. whereas NCC (and i don't know much about them) but all i've ever heard is that they are fast..

That's cool. I don't want to argrue about it, but I think the scoreboard will do the talking, and if not I'll eat a big plate of crow.

I'd love to see Belfry win by the way, but I just don't see it happening.

I never said ncc would win I said Belfry has an a hurt player so that might be a facter in the game.
#21
This game could go either way, all depends on which team wants it most. I pick Belfry winning by a touchdown late in the game.
#22
Where is this game being played?
#23
It's being played at Belfry.
#24
I think that Belfry will have to open some wholes and push through,As long as they get a whole we will get 5 yards!!
#25
I don't know what each team returns this year. But I will take Belfry at home in a close one..

Belfry in a close game. I am originally from Pikeville and i know first hand what Phillip Haywood and his Pirates can do at home... if Belfry can stop Vicars and control their passing game they will win BUT if NCC can stop Belfry's hardnosed running attack then they will have a great shot at winning... this game will truly be one of the best games of the year

Belfry by a landslide. Chapman just might have improved enough over this summer to make him comparable to Lil' Doug. He's worked out like a madman wanting a ring his senior year, and who can blame him?

We've lost Matt, and it's difficult to replace a player (or such a great kid) as him, but everyone else has matured and improved, and we're still returning about half our starters on D, and a few 3rd year starters.

Ryan started for us last year against Henry Clay, and tbh he did better in that game than Jordan did in several games later in the season. Look for Ryan to be MUCH improved this season.

Still, hope Nick recovers quick enough to at least be able to play. You only get one senior year 8/

Don't mean to hurt all the Pirate fans in here (I cheer for them most of the time) but NCC is a championship team year in and year out. Granted the Pirates have been up the last couple of seasons, I just can't see them winning this game. They have lost too much over the last couple of years.
