Arkansas lawmakers propose Arkansas-ASU matchup

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - It may take a state law for the Arkansas Razorbacks and Arkansas State Red Wolves to meet up on the football field.

A pair of Arkansas lawmakers has filed legislation that would require the two football teams to meet up for one football game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The bill by Republican Rep. Andy Mayberry of Hensley and Democratic Rep. Harold Copenhaver of Jonesboro would require at least $250,000 of the ticket sales from the game to go to charity.

Mayberry set up a website, http://www.arkansasasubenefit.com , to poll visitors on whether they want the schools to meet up and which charity they'd like to benefit from the game.

Mayberry said they won't run the bill if the majority of those polled don't support the matchup. please go vote herewww.arkansasasubenefit.com .........i am from ky and i know they made KY/LOUISVILLE plAY, AND I NOW LIVE IN JONESBORO AR, and support ASU, pleas vote yes to help make this happen,THANKSSSSSSSS

This wouldn't be good for Arkansas State IMHO. Nice sentiment though. Not sure if ASU's AD likes the prospect of getting beat by 40 every season.

please, they would have beat arkansas by 40 the last 2 yrs,maybe not 40 but would have beat them by couple tds...

arkansas is by far my favorite college in the WORLD! The Razorbacks have struggled tremendously the last year or so, but they would still beast ASU. ASU has a weak defense, Arkansas would destroy them offensively.
