It came from cordia because the was saying how they were racist and everything and it was a couple of bench players to that they had to give it up this year

It is a funny thing to me at this moment Knott County has two African-American ball players playing against Leslie County and one of them has started all year. Since they have been a school, only Hazard and Jenkins has had more A/A ball players as Knott County and they have had many over the years.

If what i've heard is true(which I will not repeat, as it is just rumors), then it's just awful, racism has no place in this world.

Is it an incident that was school sanctioned or was it something that was perpetrated by some stupid teenagers. If you ban a school from playing by the stupid actions of some students and or adults, Cordia and Perry Central would be serving lifetime bans right now.

Sadly...
This isn't the worst case of racism I've seen around here.
However, I think we all know that this is the actions of a few reflecting on an entire fan base.
The "USA" chants were harmless IMO, but the pics were out of line and I'm confident most people in Knott County were ashamed to see them.

Really, people can we just talk about the 14th region basketball tournament. Lets keep the topic about all the talent players that we have in the 14th region and forget about all the rumors going around.

Yelling USA has nothing to do with racism. Thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Its a shame some people try to make something out of nothing. And since Knott has African American players that play alot for them that just shows how stupid this is .

The pics simply made their rounds through social media.
They were just plain stupid and I won't post them on here.
I will say that they contained vulgar language, a burning flag, a noose and more racially charged garbage.
It was an unfortunate situation and if my players were involved I would sit them. I know BB has a lot on the line with a good team and a lot of pressure, but that wouldn't be something that I would put up with.

Just Rumors! Kids are going to be Kids. Point Blank, Pep Sections are going to do some crazy stuff to rattle the other team. In no way am I saying racial comments should be taken lightly, but this thing went both ways from what I can gather. Who's to say one word is less offensive than the other.

I agree with you 100%. But people on here and in the area only wanting to talk about what Knott county students suppose to done. Nobody is talking about what Cordia students suppose to have done.

In regard to making light of the racism toward to Cordia black players. It is appropriate that it is discussed on this board because they are basketball players. I would hope that people who post on this board would be concerned that such things are taking place in today's world.If you think what happened wasn't racist watch the lead story on wlex channel 18 that aired last night. Shooting into the Melton's house Sat nite was directly related to the fact that they are strong Rhodes supporters and take a very active interest in the black players lives. Their neice and husband are Owootah and king's guardians. I heard that it's already known who did it. Nothing will happen to them because it's so hard to prove. If these boys were white or not very good basketball players none of this would be happening. One last note, people on Lotts Creek are not stupid. We know that all folks who support KCC are not racists. But appropiate action should have been taken immediately when this occurred as per board policy. Instead it was treat as "kids being kids". Serious mistake.
