Called this one a few weeks ago. A blind man could have seen this one from a mile away. Valley bball is now a joke. In need of a serious overhaul.

A SV fan should be disgusted with their play

Great game by the Warriors, I was well pleased to see them come out and play a full game with intensity. I have seen games where it was there, but not for a full game.

Congrats to Valley for their season, may not have ended way they wanted it to but still a good young team. (Hearing rumors of possible coach change at Valley?) Not sure what that would be about...

Back to subject,
Pikeville will need to bring their "A" game if ER plays another night like this one.

Good luck to both teams in the following game and Region.

Not with there play there coach. Quit is the best fir him.
#10
Who you guys want? Coach Doe Doe Rowe?

Shelby Valley isn't nearly as an attractive job as some in Pike County think.

You went down this path before after the state title and the list of REAL candidates was underwhelming to say the least.

Raymond Justice would have been the best fit but you passed him by and he aint coming back.

So?

Randy's teams always get better as the season goes on, and this team will only get better. The future is bright at the Ridge, as they have the best coach in the entire region and probably a KHSAA hall of famer. East Ridge played a hell of a game tonight

No surprise here... this group actually declined as the season went on... if it is possible to do it. This is not a knock on the boys and young men playing on the team, this is simply an observation of the coaching staff for three years now.... the "post state-champs" group of talent that was suppose maintain the stronghold on the 15th region has not developed since their first few games playing varsity basketball for Shelby Valley.... You can say that they have been competitive for the past two years. But to see the amount of talent coming through Valley, plateau all the while not producing positive results has to fall on the staff's lack of ability to develop average-high end caliber students. I was very excited about the hire of coach Newsome as coach Booher moved on in his career. Going through school and watching the successes first hand, I though that coach Newsome was the perfect fit. And after two years (not including the first year after the championship), I can not believe that I am now in complete support of a new hire and heading in a new direction. I think that coach Newsome is a good man, a good coach, but his lack of improvement from one year to the next has built my case for a new coach to be with Valley next year.... I thought I would never have to say that but for my beloved wildcats, I believe it might be do or die time to look for that next fit.

Time for the kids at ER to show how they feel. Pack the gym to the capacity and make it so the doors blow open with hostility. Make sure Kasongo feels welcome! No reason it shouldn't have a collegiate atmosphere.

Did it hurt your feelings that ER won? You are an idiot and I'm sick of you bashing the East Ridge players and their coach. I have a message for you from the Warriors, "Kiss Our Ass!!!"

vundy is just jealous and hating. Confusedinglepar
#17
^ I think he may have just been referring to the coaching comments lol
#18
I would like to see Doe Doe Rowe get a chance at the head coaching job. He has put his time in and would do a good job.
#19
If SV went to Belter more they would have one the game IMO

Looks like I hurt someone's little feelings...well I'm sincerely not sorry.

You do realize I'm an ER fan and alum, right? I've never bashed an ER player, ever. Their coach, oh yeah, because he shouldn't be coaching. But yeah, I'm GLAD they won, not upset, hahaha genius!

No. I'm happy, it is my team, after all. Nothing to be jealous of besides not having a 6'10 big guy like Belter, lol.

vundy, you didnt hurt my feelings at all. East Ridge is by no means not "your team." tell us, what year did you graduate from ER?
#23
Really good win for the Warriors!!! Sure home court did not hurt them. It would be interesting to know the records for those playing on their home courts in tournament play....I guess that is the way it has to be. Sure it did not matter when Valley or Paintsville had those great teams,as they could have won in a barn or field... Good luck to all the teams...

E.R. defeated Valley in the 1st round on Valley's home floor last year.

Yes but that is one, looking at the picture over several years would be interesting..

Looks to me like he is the problem over there. He jokes and laughs with the kids and Im sure they love him, cause hes more of their peer than coach. But he cuts the throat of Greg Newsome every chance he gets. Greg Newsome granted isnt the best coach and in my oppion needs to stress some more fundamentals, but he is a good coach. He just has an assistant who has been sabbotaging him for three years. With the kids, with his defense, and with their parents. From what Ive been told Greg gave Doe Doe total control of the defense this year. Well the wildcats scored 67 points. Yeah it wasnt a great offensive appearance but in my oppinion if you score 67 points in the 15th region you should win if you can play a lick of defense. The wildcats pressed or trapped the whole game, the warriors shot 17 to 20 layups or were put on the freethrow line. Is that the mark of a good coach not to call off a press with a team shooting layups or freethrows? No, so blame your defense coach. And be careful what your parents and kids ask for, and ask your self if you want them to be coached by a good coach or do you want to fire this one and hire them a gossip buddy whose taught them how to defy authority and killed the concept of a TEAM, because thats going to be your options, because a great coach would not touch that program with a 10ft pole in its current condition. But I promise you this, you will either get a great coach or keep the one you have or my kids will go to the city school and as bad as I hate it Ill be wearing maroon.

Sports fan 101 I can't believe you would want Doe Doe as a head coach just look at the mess he and Greg have caused the last 3 years

Ugh.

This game needs to happen now, haha!
