Top Freshmen in the State
#1
Who are some of the top Freshman in the State and what are their stats ie... PPG, Height, Position?
#2
Jordan Perry from Morgan County is definitely an elite freshman. He is a 5'11" combo gaurd and it would generous to say that he weighs around 150. He averages right around 20 ppg. Last week he was recognized as the youngest player in school history to collect 1000 points.
#3
Braxton Beverly from Perry County Central
#4
Quentin Goodin, Taylor County
#5
Carson Williams, Owen Co. 6-6, 225.

Listed as a small forward on this site, but he plays closer to the basket for Owen Co.

Carson Williams Future 150 Profile

Robert Dalton 22 PPG. PG-SG. 6'1.
Austin Chaffins 6'0. 18 PPG. PG.

How about 8th Grader Timmy Dalton? 14 PPG. 6'1. PG-SG-SF.

Those numbers are way off.

R. Dalton averages 15.4 per game.
A. Chaffins averages 9.9 per game.

T. Dalton (Closer to accurate) averages 11.9 per game. And for an 8th grader, 57% from the field is exceptional. Shows he is mature and lets the game come to him.

These guys can play and are some of the best in EKY no doubt, but no need to inflate the numbers falsely.

I would throw in Brandon Richardson in front of Chaffins and T. Dalton, however. He averages 12.3 PPG, is the team's best FT Shooter, and is the leading rebounder with 6.4 RPG.

Really enjoy watching LC play with their style. They play so fast and look fluid doing so.

Dalton Frasure - Prestonsburg - 6'3" Center/Forward 220lbs
12.3 Rebounds/GM - 16pts/gm

Braxton Beverly is the best freshman i have seen play this year. He never gets rattled, handles the ball very well, and i havent seen anyone who can stop him from getting in the lane.
#10
Agree with everything except the last comment. Beverly can be shut down. He has had too many bad games offensively for that statement to be true. But he does run the offense extremely well.

Just wonderin how many TRUE freshmen do we have in the state. Not raggin at all. Just I was a 16 yr old senior and most freshmen these days are driving to school. Combs will be next year, and the Shrum kid at knott is dead on shooter.
#12
Carson Williams is a true freshman. Just turned 15 a month or so ago.
#13
R. Dalton and his brother Timmy Dalton from Lawrence are really talented young men. Chaffins and Richardson are excellent talent as well. This team is built on raw young talent, and they continue to get better. I also like Chase Parsley the freshman for Sheldon Clark, and his teammate 8th grader Dylan James.

I was an 18 year old senior (At least by graduation) - are the majority of seniors in the state 16 and I don't know about it?
#16
Jared Farris from Somerset is a true freshman @ 6'6 #230

From what I understand about Combs at Cordia he could actually be only a 7th grader, therefore I don't think he will be driving to school next year.

My bad, I meant he would be a true freshman next year. Not one of those who would be driving to school. Combs has bright future ahead of him. One kid i know personally that puts in work all year round. He also has alot of growing left. True 13 year old.

I don't how you define a true freshman.
If the student is not 16 before Aug. 1 he is eligible.

Marsee from Knox Central is the best freshmen I've seen this year in the 13th. Hill, from Corbin, has played well and Clay has two who have contributed. Harlan starts two freshmen (Parks and Hogue) and they both have had big games.

I'm gonna say he means have not been held back...

That's really not an accurate/fair way to label someone.
Some parents know how the rules work and just start their child later to ensure he/she will be as old as legally allowed when they are a senior.
Someone who stays back could be younger than someone who never did.
#22
Luke Woods from Whitley has played well.
#23
Braxton Beverly has to be on this list for sure. A great talent with a great work ethic. And he is a great young man to boot.
The kid from Lawrence Co is the most explosive kid i have seen this year. He is gonna be a good one for sure.

Parsley is a SOPH .

Kash Daniel for Paintsville is a "True FROSH". Has never been held back. 15 yaers old. Not afraid to bang with anyone.

Some names I have never heard are on this list. I will keep my eye out.
#26
Markel McClendon, varsity guard for Cov. Holy Cross
Carson Williams, varsity forward for Owen County
#27
Farris as mentioned from Somerset. Somerset has a true point guard in Castle Hatched.
#28
How legit is this Farris kid??? Can he actually play at the Varsity level or is he just out there because he is tall and has future potential?

The best way to answer that question is to call Coach Cothron and ask him. He dominates the freshman and jv level and you will not find another big that runs the floor better. Pm me for coachs # if you want. He has also been asked to play in Mountain allstar game that Tri State Sports host.
#30
Ben Weyer at Newport Central Catholic. Likely 6'6", runs the floor very well. Very talented.
