Johnson ruling today?
#1
Rumor going around that Justin Johnson at PCC has been ruled eligible today. Can anyone confirm?
#2
I heard he was ruled eligible a couple days ago from someone that lives in Hazard but I don't think it was true or it would have been all over the place on here lol.
#3
^Close source said still ineligible to me this morning. And he doesn't see it happening this season.
#4
Justin Johnson has been ruled ELIGIBLE as of today.
#5
Zaga what are your thoughts? I talked to you about this not too long ago.
#6

Correct

The hearing officer makes a RECOMMENDATION based on the information disclosed at the hearing. Now the KHSAA has two weeks to make an official ruling. He could still be ruled ineligible at this point - nothing is official.

I will say that I don't know that the commissioner has ever decided against the recommendation.

I think it makes Perry a very tough team if things keep moving in this direction.

Johnson is a big athletic kid that I can see running with this team...
expect the showtime commodores to do big things this year.

Lob Central has returned.

Its not likely he will go against the judge but it has happened b4. I look for him to know something by the end of the week.
#11
I do know of in a couple of cases that the KHSAA has went against the judge's ruling, but, usually, they do go along with the judge. This is standard KHSAA bull crap. It makes for a good show on their part and, at the same time, they get to take a shot at PCC over the Paige deal from last year. If KHSAA upholds their original ineligible ruling, I will be shocked. They have neither the proof or the backbone to do so.
#12
This helps PCC a lot. Like zaga said..... It will be Lob Central at PCC again.
#13
Same old stuff as last year. And where did it get them? Sitting in the stands during the regional tourn.

I know...
getting Jaysean eligible was the reason they lost to Buckhorn last year.
They would have been so much better without him.

^ gotta love it zaga lol! :problem:
#16
Surprises me. I know nothing is 100% official right now but was not expecting him to be ruled eligible.

So this ruling pretty much solidifies the fact that teams can openly recruit without any consequences. If he is ruled eligible then every kid from here on out should be ruled eligible as well, no matter the circumstances surrounding the transfer.

And before some PCC fan gets upset, this is not a shot at PCC, it is referencing the whole KHSAA eligibility requirements and transfer rules.
#19
The should allow all kids one transfer in High School period!

Totally agree with Altro Cat... They should just do away with the transfer rules if they're going to let this case through.

To be fair...
how many kids do we hear about every year that are ruled ineligible?

It does happen....but not often.
#23
Hes Elgiable, I hate that all these people on here think I dont know what im talking about.
#24
It will help this team but watching them play at times there to me right now the 4th best team in the region.
#25
Congrats Perry.

With this ruling puts the Dores right there at the top to compete for Rupp.
#26
I hate to say this LOL, Im right again. Ive said all along that proving athletic gain is almost impossible in any situation. I said this kid followed all the rules of bylaw 6 to become eligible in the state of KY and he did. The judge must have agreed with me and made the right decision, PERIOD!!!! Im sure alot of you may have a diff opinion and thats fine. ITS ABOUT THE KIDS. I see nothing wrong with a kid moving somewhere to play bball. I hope all transfers get eligible!!!! Good luck to all the Canadians kids and all other transfers

If this kids eligilible they should shut down the KHSAA office.

I wouldn't go as far as to shut down the KHSAA. They still do some other good things but they should quit regulating transfers.

The rule needs to be black and white, either everyone plays or everyone sits a year. Personally I see no reason why kids shouldn't be allowed to transfer and play.
#29
Because there is a reason why the rules were made to begin with. That is so schools located in area with a rich economic base cant recruit all star teams every year while the more rural economicly poorer schools see their star player who grew through their feeder system leave for where the cash is.If there is no transfer rules the rich will get richer and the poor will be left out. And I get tired of let the kid play. No mention is made of the buddies he grew up with dealing with the loss on their team.Yes let him play. where he grew up

OH well. On with basketball!
