Spencer County (7-3) will host Nelson County (5-5) in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

Any thoughts or predictions?

No way...Spencer County will win. Good luck to the Bears.

I could see this one being a shoot out. It will definitely be one of the better 1st round games, no doubt about it.

A look at some of the numbers.

NC - 5-5 PPG 36.7, PPGA 39.4
SC - 7-3 PPG 28.8, PPGA 12.8

Common Opponents

Bardstown (NC Lost 55-35), (SC lost 33-19)
Woodford County (NC Lost 42-27), (SC won 32-7)
Larue County (NC won 31-15) (SC lost 14-12)
Bullitt East (NC won 35-28, (SC won 27-0)

NC's best win? (Central Hardin, Bullitt East)

SC's best win? (North Oldham, Bullitt East)

Two contrasting styles will collide. Should be an exciting game to see who can get the game going the way they want.

If Nelson can slow down the running game of spencer, then they will get beat.
Nelson will throw it and throw often. IMO Spencer can not stop the passing game of Nelson.

Still love my upset special of the week..

These two scrimmaged at the beginning of the year. Anybody remember how that went? Honest question.
#14
Nope. Didn't know they did and it would depend on what type of scrimmage it was before I would pay attention to the score of it. Without kowing, still like my pick.

I think it's a great pick. I won't be shocked at whoever the winner is. This is truly a game where if they played 10 times, both would go .500; but it comes down to just one. I'm definitely interested in seeing how it plays out. I'm almost positive it was game-like (at least for the majority of the scrimmage).

They did in fact scrimmage. I believe Spencer won 20-18 or something like that. I do know the format of scrimmage was 3 quarters game like. All special teams were live. Howeveri that means nothing tonight. I like Spencer in this one but it could go either way.
