3A South Warren, Russell and Corbin have to be on the cusp. Morgan and Monroe have good records but I'm not sure either are better than those three.

In 1A Fairview is too low.

4-8 in 4A is interchangeable.

I just can't justify moving Fairview up until they do something.

They beat Fleming by a TD, who Russell handled easily. And Grove City was a closer game this than last. (Not sure when GC scored, could have been late) Fairview and East Carter was much closer than Fairview and EC. Yeah, yeah two new studs, etc.. etc.. But they have not been tested with them.

They will not be rewarded for playing cupcakes. Beat Raceland and they will jump right up there. Until that, none of the teams in front of Fairview have given any reason to fall, yet. Things will become a lot more clear in the next 3 weeks.

South Warren plays Monroe County at home this Friday. The winner should be ranked.

Monroe already is ranked #7.

If South Warren wins they will definitely earn a Top 10 spot as they are more or less the #11 team right now.

Football in Warren County is at all-time high right now it would seem with BG,WC,WE,and WS all being good.
#7
You left out Anderson Co. They could easily beat your #5 thru #10 ranked team.
#8
In 2A, Caldwell County should, at the very least, get some mention!:problem:

There right on the edge, but didn crack it this week.

Owensboro Catholic is not a #1 team. Rated way to high!

Spot on this week. Great job!

How do you have Fairview ranked #8? Every other poll has them inside top 5. Ap poll #3, and #5 on others???

Class 1A
Rank-School FPV Rcd TP Pvs
1. Mayfield (15) 6-1 150 1
2. Frankfort - 5-1 124 2
3. Fairview - 6-0 105 3
4. Williamsburg - 5-1 99 4
5. Beechwood - 3-3 87 6
6. Raceland - 5-1 85 5
7. Hazard - 2-3 64 7
8. Russellville - 5-2 54 8
9. Lou. Ky. Country Day - 5-1 36 9
10. Harlan - 3-3 13 10

If you think Fairview is better than Beechwood and Hazard at this point, I don't know what to tell you. It is simple, Fairview is undefeated. That is why other polls have them so high. I will ask a simple question. What has Fairview proven?

I have said it probably 5 times now, the Raceland game will determine whether Fairview stays where they are or moves into the top 5. No one in the BGR top 10 have given any reason since the poll laid out its order in the early part of the season. The AP does not pay close enough attention to who teams are beating and losing to, but instead pays attention just to W-L. Trust me if Fairview played Ashland, Covington Catholic, Franklin County, Warren Central, Warren South, or Fort Campbell, the Eagles would not be sitting at 6-0.

Win the Raceland game and they will jump. It isn't like this poll hurts their State Title hopes.
#14
I don't think Fairview is #3 but I would have them #6.

The AP poll is meaningless.

All in all, I wouldn't put much validity in the AP and Paper polls past the
#3 spot. There is some exceptions, but for the most part it is all based
on the W & L columns.

The guys at BGR do I good job looking at the whole picture. Yes, there
will always be differences of opinions, but these oldtimers don't do to bad.
My suggestion is make a case for your team's spot, just don't say they
should be there.

For me, I think Anderson should hit in that 10 spot, but that knocks out my
alma mater. So I'm content letting it ride another week. And, I'll wait until
after Friday to make a case for Garrard County.

You got the old timer part right Confusednicker:

Also, you said you'd put Anderson in at 10, but it would knock out your alma mater.

Did you graduate from Whitley?

2A is going to get real interesting here in the next few weeks. DeSales, Bardstown, and C.A.L. all have to play each other. DeSales has quite a few injuries, that might impact them. C.A.L. plays Bardstown tonight, which should be a great one.

If Lloyd beats NCC this weekend, will they be top 10 in 2A?

Graduted from Whitley in '82. Played a little Football, Basketball and Baseball.
#22
Well.....CAL didn't have much of a problem with Bardstown. Actually, they had no problems at all. I guess it's true when they say "your only as good as the competition you have beaten" CAL at DeSales next week is going to be a huge game.
#23
what will it take for Collins to get into the top 10 in 4A?
Again only 1 team from the Western side of the state mentioned..
Warren East is what undefeated and all they can get to is 9th?
I don't disagree that the East has some great teams in it BUT, they are not that loaded.
#24
Glad to see Whitley break in the top 10. IMO Williamsburg should be atleast #3.:pondering:

Bless your soul.
You were apart of the last decent basketball team we had Confusednicker:

Glad to see another Whitley alum. Where do you call home now?

Somerset should move back up in 2A a spot or two after beating Danville handily last week.
