This is Week 2 of the inaugural Bluegrass Rivals Regional Power Rankings!
We will rank the Top 5 in each region of the stat, based on a "pound for pound" basis. We will take into account Strength of Schedule, margin of victory/defeat, magnitude of games, and come to a conclusion.
Rankings are meant for discussion, and your feedback is what we want to hear whether you agree or not. Make your case for your team!
1. Scott County- Cards get the slight edge by rolling on in dominating fashion.
2. LexCath- Knights have to come from behind to beat a middle of the pack Mercer County team. Huge game this week against an old rival.
3. Bryan Station- Defenders are looking super impressive, but no small task at hand vs. Lafayette.
4. Franklin County- Flyers look to finish off the Jessamine County schools. Only Anderson County looms to pose a threat.
5. Frankfort- The small school king of CKY. Frankfort put a hurtin' on LCA in a statement win.
Teams on the Rise:
Bourbon County- Colonels are a legitimate 3A Contender and haven't been pushed yet.
Danville- Ads are winners of 5 straight and their season opening loss to Simon Kenton has actually been the stiffest test the undefeated 6A Pioneers have faced.
Teams Falling:
Garrard County- Golden Lions have been teetering on the edge of contender/pretender and a loss to Bath County may have pushed them over the edge.
Tates Creek- Losers of 4 of their last 5, the Commodore defense has more holes than Swiss Cheese.
Game to Watch:
Boyle County @ LexCath- One of the premier rivalries over the past 15 years, Boyle seeks to redeem themselves after 3 early season losses, whereas LexCath is looking for a statement win.
