Greg Vorbrink has been named the new softball coach at Mercy, and knows he has some big shoes to fill.
Vorbrink replaces Josh Bloomer, who resigned in June after posting a 237-89-2 record in eight seasons. His teams won five regional titles and the state championship last season.
Vorbrink coached with Bloomer on the Louisville Lady Sluggers travel team and was an assistant coach for four seasons at North Bullitt.
âIâm not planning to go in there and put my name and my stamp on things,â Vorbrink said. âJosh has built the program and made it what it is, and I just want to continue it on like it has been.â
Vorbrinkâs daughter, Jordan, will be a sophomore member of the Mercy softball team next season. She was the co-MVP of the state tournament as a freshman last season.
