Jackson Co @ Lawrence Co 8/24/12

The young Bulldogs get a chance to redeem themselves Friday at first home game of the season. Any thoughts?

I think Lawrence will come away with a win at home and get some momentum going. This team is young but scrappy. They play hard from opening whistle til the final second runs off the clock. I'm really looking forward to seeing this team grow together.

Jackson may very well be the worst team in the state. Ill take the dogs by at least 3 td's.

Lawrence wins 26-18

I could be wrong but, I don't think that Jackson County has that much interest in football from students or the community. They're definitely a basketball school first. Will be another long season for them. Lawrence County should win this game easily!

Lawrence Co. - 28

Jackson Co. - 7

The Dawgs will get a chance to improve on all parts this week. They out gained Ashland from scrimmage and special teams was very strong maintaining good field position. But 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter was to much to overcome. The passing attack could never get going against a very good defensive line. I think this week will see the option at work. To be truly successful the wide receivers, tight end and running backs all need to be a be pass threats. This week with Obrien out and Goble banged up would be a good time for AJ to work on a good run/pass option and let Jackson try to catch those little snail darters Scaggs and Berry and cover Lambert and Shafer deep. The offensive line showed they could play with the big boys against Ashland blowing them back from the LOS on run plays but pass blocking could use some work. This group has tremendous potential.

We are not even in the same category as Ashland. But, I will say this I hope Cecil and his staff don't drop this rivalry because you give this young bunch a year or two of maturity then it will be on!:redboxer:
