Sheldon Clark @ Prestonsburg 8/24
#1
What do you all think about this match-up?

Both coming off of Wins the previous week. Great momentum and Sheldon Clark looking for revenge.

I will go out on a limb and say Pburg big.

Sheldon had a lot of problems last year with a lot of good players IMO. From what I hear they lost some of those players. PBURG just beat a good Perry central team from 5a. I like PBurg by 14

I'll say Pburg in a close one.

wont predict a score but, im going with P burg

I like Sheldon Clark in this one. The Cardinals will surprise a lot of teams this season.
#13
Has Sheldon Clark ever beaten Prestonsburg? Well, there is always a first time. But will it happen this year? We shall see come Friday!
#14
Sheldon Clark has beaten Prestonsburg many times.
#15
I was about to say this has been a pretty competitive rivalry.
#16
P'burg has had the Cardinals number as of late that is for sure, but over time these two teams have went back and forth regularly. Both teams are coming off of wins and both teams are young. Best thing about being young is momentium will carry you a long way. Head says pick P'burg but heart says SC. Go Cards!!

SC: 20
P'burg: 18

I have been following the Cards for only four years and had heard that Coach Hager had never beaten Prestonsburg; however, my information is hearsay and sometimes that can be inaccurate.

Maybe someone can inform me with some correct data.

Thanks!

Pburg is the more talented and veteran team

See now you are changing your question. First you said has Sheldon Clark ever beaten Prestonsburg which the answer is a resounding yes. Now you say that you have followed them for only 4 years and that you were told that Coach Hager has never beaten Prestonsburg. Two totally different things.

You have already answered my first question in a prior post. The Hager situation is another question. It appears to me that you feel I have an ax to grind; I do not! Just a question?

I'll take Prestonsburg in this one. Jarrell-Williams combination is lethal!

Fwiw...

Prestonsburg does have a healthy all-time series lead, though the Cards have had some big wins in the series.

To my knowledge, Coach Hager has never beaten the Blackcats as Head Coach.

i watched the blackcats play this past friday and to be honest i wasnt very impressed with pburg.. the qb play was spotty and their run game was suspect at times and their open field tackling was horrific.. it looked to me that other than the 15 on defence that everyone else would shy away from the big tackle.. i just didnt think that pburg wasnt physical enough i didnt see that toughness that they usually had.. SC gotta be the more physical team to win..with that said i believe sheldon clark could beat them but they havent did it in years so why would it change now.. just to much talent on the black cats i pick p burg to win the game by 2 tds

2005 SC beat P'burg 21-20 at SC. So yes Hager has beat P'burg.

2003 was the last season Jim Matney was at Sheldon Clark and according to the KHSAA site he won three out of the last five games played. Shawn Hager took over after Coach Matney left for Johnson Central in 2004 and has a career record of 1-5 against Prestonburg.
