Best Football game the last 5 seasons

What's the best high school football game you've seen in the past five years ?

Mine is :

2004--Prestonsburg vs. Belfry(Regular Season) they went to OT and belfry pulled it out over my blackcats but still thats one of the best games I've seen in years !

Mine would be the Pikeville/Williamsburg Regional Championship in '04. Pikeville drives the length of the field in under 2 minutes to score and completes the 2 point conversion to send the game into OT with PHS pulling it out in the end!!

Belfry/Lawrence Co. 2002 at Vipperman Stadium - Lawrence was up big, Belfry came back, Lawrence won it in overtime. GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was at that game it was a classic, as was the 2003 regional championship game between Lynn Camp and Pikeville. Lynn Camp hit a half back pass in the last two minutes of the game to send it to OT, and Lynn Camp took home the region. The 03 and 04 Class A region 4 championship games very similar in the way they were play.

That was one of the best atmospheres i ever played in, I will never forget that game. It was crazy. I always felt wierd in games like that, cause I knew so much was riding on it. I'm just glad I was on the field. Games like that kind of sucked tho, lol, never getting breaks.
But Vipperman was my favorite place to play a football game. I mean you get off the bus and people are yelling at you, telling you how bad you suck and everthing and then you suit up and walk out onto that field infront of a few thousand people. It still sends chills up my spine.

2001- CovCath verse Highlands at Highlands, Tim Grogan hits Dave Paul in the back of the endzone as time expires (might have been a lil time left, might have even been in OT, I think it was)

2003 Prestonsburg @ Ashland

What a game! A back and forth battle with Ashland stealing the win on a huge pass play down the home sideline when a Prestonsburg defender comes withing inches of knocking away the pass.

That game sucked at the end, that was also one of my worst games.

Don't know about the best, and the 2 teams sure aren't, but the funnest game to watch was Phelps/Jenkins about 2 years ago, when every other school in the state (especially in the Eastern part)cancelled games due to storms and flooding. The game was played on and in nothing but mud. About 6-8 inches thick, when the ball would be kicked off, it would just stop right where it hit, lol. Think Phelps ended up winning 22-20. Have the game on tape and should see the refs after the game, looked like they had played in the game. Classic!

It's all in good fun and the game should be a great one. We all know that Pikeville is very hungry for this game. They have walked the plank several years in a row now and want revenge. I look for a great game.

but you can see what I mean when I tried to clarify that nobody from Pikeville was making bold predictions about beating (or "calling out" Belfry)...

...all I did was state the game would be a VERY GOOD one this year.

...someone else came on implying I was "calling out" the Belfry folk.

...Belfry folk respond with "Bring IT" as if they'd been called out.

I would have to say it was a middle school game last year. Johnson Central 8th versus Adams Middle. Double overtime with Adams winning 30-24. It was a great game that I watched !

Some of us are not so fortunate as you Pirate supporters!
We all don't have the multi-million dollar stadiums or endless pipelines into our school from W.VA (see the 16 W.Va license plates at a recent Belfry vs. Allen Central baseball game!)
Thus we will stay in our own little world and watch a good grade school game when we can find a carpool out of our creeks!

You know whats funny when I played for Belfry I had family that lived in WV to come watch me all the time. Does that make me from WV? No, my dad was from there but I have never lived there a day in my life. Alot of these kids have family in WV that comes to the games cause were like 2 minutes from it lol.

My favorite game though was at Middlesboro in 03. I still think that was the best team Belfry played that year and it took our best game of the season from players and fans to beat them. The fans were so loud Middlesboro players were in shock when they got to the game and our side was full and everyone was screaming and they had like 20 ppl there then lol.
