This should be a easy one for Pikeville at home.

The games are never easy, with a young team you never know what to expect, especially after the draining game this weekend against Johnson Central. But yes, I agree, I believe Pikeville should pick up the win. Be interesting to see if they pick up where they left off in intensity from the JC game.

Could this be the weakest 15th region in several years? It seems right now Allen Central is the class act, with Pikeville. East Ridge and maybe Betsy Layne behind them. Next Belfry, Johnson Central, Paintsville (?), South Floyd on the next group and everybody else it seems is going to have a tough year. Looking for comments what do you think?

Seems about the same to me. 15th region always has been and unfortunately probably always will be one of the weaker in the state. I do think we're stronger than the 13th and 14th, maybe even the 16th... Maybe better than a few out west, but no chance our region will ever be able to compete with any of the regions 6-11. Typically, every year about half of the region is competitive and the other half is pretty weak. I would agree that ACHS is the team to beat, East Ridge gave them a very good game though. Going in to this season I would have said Betsy Layne was 3rd best, but based on their first three games, I think Pikeville is in the conversation as maybe #3. I think Johnson Central is definitely top 5. It's difficult to sort through Belfry and South Floyd right now, and Paintsville has yet to play a game so there's no telling on them.

Looking forward to the tournament this weekend, Champions of the Mountain Classic in Pikeville! Go Panthers!

I think you are a out right! Looking forward to see if Paintsville continues to approve as they did last year. After Allen Central it could go to any of several teams depending on the night!

Guys, don't let this thread or any other thread with Pikeville or East Ridge get out of hand. We've had a couple that had to be moved because they got way too out of hand. You all are doing good with this thread, just letting everyone not to let it get out of hand!
