Allison Foster of Christian Academy was named Gatorade Kentucky Softball Player of the Year. The award recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement and character.
Foster, a 5-foot-6 senior pitcher and outfielder, batted .500 with 10 home runs, 39 runs scored and 31 RBIs this past season, leading the Centurions (28-8) to the 7th Region quarterfinals.
In the circle, she was 24-6 with a 0.80 ERA and 302 strikeouts in 176 innings pitched.
âAllison Foster is a lot more than a pitcher, she is the total package of a ballplayer,â said Bob Wheatley, head coach of rival Sacred Heart Academy. âShe is very athletic and can play other positions very well.â
Foster has signed to play softball at Bellarmine University this fall.http://saxo.highschoolsports.net/article...ky?Avis=B2

Glad to see Allison win player of the year. Not only is she an awesome pitcher but an all-around great player. She would be playing in the state tournament this weekend if she was in just about any other region. Bellarmine is getting a great player.
