Western hires Moorman

Terrence Moorman has been named the boys’ basketball coach at Western, replacing Paul Handley.
Moorman most recently has been involved on the AAU circuit with Team Loyalty but was encouraged to get back into high school coaching by Western principal David Mike. Moorman and Mike met 20 years ago as student teachers at Seneca.
“I had no desire to get back into (high school coaching), to be honest,” Moorman said. “But David Mike persuaded me, and I know what kind of guy he is. He’s one of the best principals in Louisville.”
Moorman, 44, was a standout basketball player at Doss (1985 graduate) and was the boys’ basketball coach at Central from 1999-2004. He won four district titles there, and his 2000-01 squad was the Sixth Region runner-up to Fairdale.
Moorman inherits a Western squad that finished 11-20 last season after losing to Butler in the 22nd District semifinalshttp://saxo.highschoolsports.net/article/20120604/SPORTS05/306040112/Eastern-baseball-coach-John-Morris-departs?Avis=B2
