Mason County Tyler Black signs with Jackson State Community College

Mason County senior Tyler Black is entering his college years at Jackson State Community College looking to improve more than just his play on the court.

Hines said he was alerted to Black's availability by Pikeville coach Kelly Wells. He then came down to see Black at the Kentucky all-star boys' tryout at Georgetown College.

His goals, he said Monday, are to "just come in playing my game and hopefully win a national championship at the junior college level, and then just work on my game and get better as a person, as a student-athlete and as a basketball player."

Black signed a letter of intent Monday afternoon to play collegiately at the two-year institution in west Tennessee.
