Not sure how that Sheldon Clark score came to be but they played 6-8 quarters and Sheldon won all of them but they were close.
Shelby Valley scrimmaged @ Johnson Central last night and played 4 ten minute quarters with a running clock even during free-throws and Valley came out on top 54-48.
1st (SV)14-4,
2nd (SV)16-12,
3rd (JC) 13-12,
4th (JC) 19-12.
Shane Hall played and so did Salyer.

Is Valley just not progressing like the way we thought they would a couple years ago?? This seems so one-sided for this to be 2 of the top 5 or so teams in the region!

Why would you keep stats for a summer league game?
06-01-2012, 11:07 AM
Don't know why they would but sometimes they do . Just wanted to see how balanced the scoring was for these two teams .

Nobody actually keeps stats for summerball scrimmages and most of the time rotations they are not what they will be during the season. Some teams have players playing other sports or guys that don't play at all and it can be deceiving as an indicator of how well a team is preforming. The goal is to make indivdual and team assessments to see what you can or cannot do and look at what kind of skills need attention. You can keep team scores of quaters won or lost but you must remember everybody is getting plenty of minutes and different rotations are being tested. It's a lot of fun for everybody!

Completely true. Kind of forgot about that the teams are just assembled short term, not in according to the season rotation

The Shelby Valley Wildcats won all three games yesterday at Transy by and average of 20 pts without power forward Andrew Newsome.
I was told that he joined the team late last night and will compete today as they play a tough schedule the rest of the way including a good John Hardin High School.
I spoke with some players and coaches and the morale and attitude was strong and very positive about their success!
I don't have any stats but what Greg told me it was a total team effort and he is very proud of everybody.
Keep up the good work boys and make us proud!

Don't read too much into Summer Ball, AAU, or whatever you want to call it. Most teams are playing lots of kids, trying new things, and possibly might not have everyone, as Coach pointed out with the absence of Andrew. S.V. has PLENTY OF TALENT and will be a serious contender this year regardless of the outcomes of games during the Summer.

Is ER playing any Summer games or are they not because of the coaching change?

I know they were scheduled to play when we were at Hazard and they did not show up so Jenkins picked up their game with Allen Central. I have not heard if they have actually played otherwise. I am pretty sure they will participate in UPIKE camp.

Shelby Valley @ Transy went 3-1 yesterday. They were defeated by a very good and physical John Hardin team which will be in the top five this season. On a unfortunate note, Cody Belter dislocated his shoulder in the game against JH and will be out the rest of the camp. Chandler Rowe twisted his ankle and missed most of this games as well limiting SV to play younger less rested players with a six and seven man rotation. They are scheduled to play three games today and return home. The JV have also preformed very well and exceeded expectations by the coaching staff.
