2012 Mr. Football canidates
#1
It's never too early to talk about Mr. Football :ChairHit:

Daylyn Dawkins - Trinity
James Quick - Trinity
Kyle Bolin - Lexington Catholic
Ryan Timmons - Franklin County
Kentayvous Hopkins - Bourbon County
Jonathon Jackson - Mayfield
Blake Bir - Covington Catholic

Anybody I miss? Anyone on there that shouldn't be there?
#2
All are deserving of being mentioned, but I would think that Quick and Bolin are the front runners. They play the schedule/competition that will keep them in the news more than some of the other players.
#3
2 more Trinity -Ryan White & Travis Wright

I would think this will come down to two James Quick and Ryan Timmons. Quick is taking the high road though, he will not run against Ryan Timmons in any track meets for whatever reason, I can only assume it is for fear of getting beat and messing up his speed status. Quick does still have really, really good hands and is a good player and will go a long way. Ryan Timmons has akle breaking speed and will also go really far. Both teams should be thankful to have both of them. I would like to see this race and take all the question out of who is the fastest.

I think the most versitile player in the state is Jeffery Canady from Knox Central.

Jonathon Jackson - Mayfield.......................beeing looked at with one of his teamates go play at Arkansas State..

so out of the 4 guys from Trinity, who has the best chance at winning it
dawkins, quick, white, or wright

^ I would take Wright. Now when I say that I would take him, I mean by a slim, slim, slim margin. Not to mention the fact he threw for 3,000 yards, 39 touchdowns, and completed 69.8% of his passes. Even more impressive considering the level of competition he played against. I thought he was a great leader for Trinity last year and I think he will be again this year. If it's not him, I would choose one of the other Trinity guys. Not a knock on the other guys that are running, but I just think these Trinity players are THAT good!

If it is not a guy from Trinity, a kid I really like is Blake Bir from Cov Cath. He is a good leader and makes smart decisions at the QB position. Also a solid runner. One thing Bir needed to improve from last year was his arm strength. I have no doubt that he will improve that this year, and that will be what takes him to that next level and will put him in contention for Mr. Football.

Jeffery Canady should win this award. Yes, as a long time KC fan and parent - I am very biased. Nonetheless, his impact in the last 3 years has been amazing - literally starting his Freshmen year. His Senior year will be a sight to behold.
#10
I think Canady is one of the best players in the state, but it's going to be really hard for him to win. if he can lead kc to a nice playoff run and put up some big stats like last year, then he'll have a chance.

and i like the pick wideleft, i'd go with dawkins right now

Quick took second place in the 100 meters at Eastern Relays today, in a very impressive 10.78. Usually speed in football players is over exaggerated, but this guy can fly and proves it on the track!
#12
^ His last name fits him perfect.

I thought this post was about possible Mr. Football candidates. It seems more like Mr. Track candidates!:1:

I went and watch Highlands and Catholic play last year. I was curious to see Towles play being a UK fan.I came away very impressed with Bolin I think he was outstanding in that game. After looking at what he has done in the past couple years I would say he maybe the guy and is very ranked as a top 20 QB on all the recruiting sites. I think that by deciding to to go to loserville he wont get it but I think that shouldnt matter.

i dont know where people get the idea that picking Louisville hurts your chances at Mr. Football cause it doesn't.
