More importantly, the stadium doesnt win you games.
So with that said, their are much more prominent teams (Trinity) that doesnt need a 60 million dollar stadium to kick ass.
Complete waste if you ask me, but im not going to cry about it and say how the teachers are underpaid. It's their decision and thats final. After reading the comment on the website you provided, all you hear is bitching and moaning about how that was stupid. Well, sorry, but its not their choice.
If my schools i root for build a 60 million dollar stadium, im not going to care either way.
However, for fun, id love to know who the first high school team is going to be to build a dome that holds 50000-100000 lol.

Hello

It must be nice to have that kind of cash laying around.

It's nice but what in the world did they spend $60 large on?
Turf field $1.5m
Scoreboard $750K
4 concession stands $100K (Price of a avg home)
4 sets of bathrooms $100K
Home side Press box $250K (Price of a nicer home)
Visiting Press box $150K
Concrete Bowl style bleachers $3.5million
Those are high estimates hitting $6,350,000 so what did they spend the rest on? Lights? $500 K will take care of those. New parking lot? Lets go big and say $2 million for the lot. That's still less than $10 Million and they spent $60 million on this? Really? Sounds like a sweet deal for the people getting paid to design and build this thing.

It's amazing that there was 59 million spent on a "Performing Arts Center" as well for the school/community, but nothing is said about that.

Good for Allen, TX though. For Football, performing arts, band, and everybody.
Not liking this is about like those who take jabs at teams with talent...know who doesn't like teams with talent? People that don't have it themselves.
My grandmother has never thought babies with full heads of hair were cute...know why? All of her kids were bald until they were 2.

At $5.00 a head it will only take 667 straight saleouts to pay for the $60,000,000 stadium. At 5 home games a year(Give or take a game) only 133.4 years of saleouts,oh well!

Why does a HS need that?

1) It is NOT a $60 million stadium (only) ... the entire complex, which includes a transportation center and a performing arts center, is $60 million.
2) The school district has only one school. Will have only one school. Think of a district merging every school in Paducah, Bowling Green or Owensboro. Wouldn't you think that 6,000 person school would have some nice facilities.
3) The school district had already bought plenty of new buses (although the ones they replaced were newer than many districts) and had replaced several elementary schools.
4) The money could NOT be used for books, field trips, teaching aids or educators' salaries ... it had to be used for buildings.
5) The teachers in that district are among the highest paid in all of Texas, public and private included.

I'm sure the games cost much more, unless there is a rule against it.
If it was $12 per ticket that would take about 280 sellouts. If there are 5 games per year, (I'm sure they would get playoff games as well, but I wont count those) it would be 56 years. Still quite a while, BUT, what if they offer different types of seating that KY high schools do? What if they have different pricing options? Lower level cost one price, upper level cost one price, etc... What if they had rich donors that were willing to pitch in if different things were named for them, (i.e. Bob Johnson scoreboard, Tim Tom Field, etc...)
I'm sure it will eventually pay for itself. Still a ridiculous amount to pay though.

So they pretty much have the best of everything. Buses, athletic facilities, schools, and performing arts centers. I see no problem with this.

Same here. See my post about my grandma not thinking full head of hair babies are cute.....why doesn't she think so? All four of her kids were bald.
About like people who are fans of one and done talent.
People that don't like 60 million dollar high school facilities, one and done talent or full head of hair babies are nothing more than jealous of things they can't have.

Private School in Texas + Oil Fields = Friday Night Lights (Movie or show)! Just saying! Did anyone forget about the Packers using a in door high school practice field before they played the Steelers in the Super Bowl couple years back!

The school in Texas is PUBLIC. It's an independent school district (like Owensboro, Frankfort, Caverna, Highlands, Bardstown) ... but PUBLIC nonetheless.
It's also a school district that would rather build bigger facilities instead of splitting. No matter the growth, it plans to have one and ONLY one high school.
