Honestly, what will UK fans reaction be if U of L can pull the upset?
#1
Im really expecting a possible mass suicide on the campus of UK.
#2
Same reaction they have had the last 15 or so years. Refs cheated us, Next year is our year.

I expect a more radical reaction with the way the uk fanbase has built this team up. As rick Pitino said, they better put fences up on the bridges.

People will be pissed and sad and then they will get over it. Same thing most fans do.

I'll cry

Call Calipari the biggest choke artist in history.
#9
upset for a few days, happy for another KY team, and looking forward to next season. It is not easy to win a title and very happy to make it to the final 4!
#10
I'll be upset if UK doesnt bring home #8 this year. I can't see UL pulling the upset, I really cant. However, if it does happen I'll cheer on little brother and Coach Pitino to win on Monday night.
#11
Blame it on retard haters such as the trolls on this site....
#12
^ if there were not retard trolls, then there would only UK fans. That would be boring as hell. So, let the trolldom reign! There is always Catspause if you don't want any haters! Bring it on! Come one, come all!

I think for the most part the reaction will be the same win or loose. The expectations for this team were high before they ever took the court in the blue & white and the continued to go up the more we got to see. So, whenever they play their last game, the ultimate reaction will be sadness because it's the last time we will see this group of young men on the court as a team.

I don't care if you bleed blue, red, green, or highlighter yellow.....you have to respect the fact that this team has represented the team, the school, the state, and themselves in way that we would want our own sons and daughters to do. They don't taunt, they don't brag, they don't have to the biggest hair, or the boldest tatoos. They come to the court with a blue collar mentality and do work. Every one of them seem to be happier for the other guys success then they do for their own. Title or no title these guys are pure champions by any definition.

So, given that this isn't a 5-game series, anything is possible and the best team doesn't always bring home the title. Win or loose, they are the best team in the nation an this will be the most memorable team in my 42-years of bleeding blue.

That is the best part of this team.

If Kentucky wins the title:
- people will drink a lot
- there will be a lot of yelling and screaming
- furniture will be burned

If Kentucky doesn't win:
- people will drink a lot
- there will be a lot of yelling and screaming
- furniture will be burned

In all seriousness if UK doesn't win the title, then many will criticize Calipari as a coach who can do everything, but win when it matters. If they lose to Kansas, then they might lose Bennett to the Jayhawks. If they lose to Ohio State, then nothing extra will occur. If they lose to Louisville, then UK fans won't hear the end of it from Louisville fans. Calipari won't hear the end of it from Pitino. And for some unknown reason, Overrated and Sparty will claim that Syracuse and Michigan State were a lot better than UK for the rest of the year.

No worries.

I have a buddy who is UofL fan, and we made a deal no talking about the game this week. Although I threatened to burn his house down if UofL beats Kentucky.

My home office is located in Louisville...
I've suffered enough!!
#24
I think if they don't win people will begin the discussion of moving on from Cal (I think I even read posts in another thread stating the same thing). Their reasoning would be that he could/can never win the big game having already been close with this and other programs.

However, I know that winning championships are important but for me it is exciting enough just to have them relevant again.

^
You're trying to be reasonable. That is unacceptable among most UK fans.
#26
I was to young to remember 96 and 98, I was six in 98. Last year was the first year I actually got to see them play in the final four, so I will be extremely disappointed if we do not bring back #8.

Sucks when you look back and say that UK is the #1 greatest basketball program in college basketball and it is the truth. But I would like for once to have our team back our words up. We say we have the greatest tradition but we haven't won a title in 14 years, Billy G almost let Carolina catch us in wins. Yes Calipari has brought the program back to being a strong program but he is wrong on one thing. He says that the program is back at the top of the mountain in college basketball. IMO, we will not be back at the top of the mountain until we win a championship.
#27
Honestly...it will sting.

Might sting for awhile.
#28
Would be the biggest upset since Nova/Hoyas. Man the bridges, there would be a long line.
#29
Im just glad we wont have to see what they do because we will not lose.
#30
I would be happy for Pitino after the trash that Calipari spewed this year...

However, I'm not a diehard like everyone else is.

I simply want to see a good basketball game and preferably a win for the cats.

But I have no issues in seeing Pitino succeed at Louisville.

Pitino is my favorite college coach for everything he did at Kentucky...

and for him to go to Louisville and get to 2 Final Fours there is an amazing feat IMO.
