New AD and Supperident, political mess over there. Coach Wise is a victim of them wanting to bring in "Their Own". 3 Principals have been reassigned and look for more changes this year. Not a place I would want to be teaching under this Adm. They are going in a new direction alright.....down hill...IMO.

Tony Wise out as Montgomery County coach
Tony Wise, who guided the Montgomery County boys’ basketball team to a 23-11 record in his first season as coach, has resigned after being told the program needed to go in a different direction.
Wise said he was “completely shocked” when Montgomery County athletics director Gene Heffington gave him the news.
“Honestly, I had no clue this was coming,” Wise said. “I thought we had a pretty daggone good year considering the schedule we played. We beat Clark County for the first time in four years, and we beat two Lexington teams (Bryan Station and Lafayette).”
The Indians lost to Mason County in the 10th Region semifinals.
Wise wasn’t hired for the Montgomery County job until early August, so he had no chance to work with his players in summer ball.
Wise coached at Frankfort the previous two years. He also coached high school hoops in Florida for eight years.

Gold Charger is pretty much spot on with his observation of the mess here in Mont Co. I just cant understand how we have a football coach with a record of 33 wins and 44 loses, low numbers year in and year out, kids just refusing to play for him and his staff. How does this guy keep his job with two wining seasons in 7 years? :HitWall:

I was born and raised in Montgomery County and played basketball there. This new super and ad are the one's that hired Coach Wise, which this was obviously a political move. The is more to this story than just " a different direction", which has lawsuits involved and Parent's not satisfied with players PT or not making the team. 4 out 5 principals have been fired and about to be 5 out of 5, they are having a special meeting for the teachers this week which will end up with some pink slips, Ball coach is gone, heard rumors that the Baseball, football, and basically everyone is in the talk of getting pink slipped or fired. I know the Cross Country Coach has already resigned. They are cleaning the house and the only one's safe is probably the Girls coach and the soccer coach. This is a sad day to be a MC fan and it looks like some dark times are ahead...

Whoever the replacement is should be in good shape the 1st year, Montgomery would be my early prediction to make to Rupp next season out of the 10th.

Probably someone that's from Union County are around that area. I think they already have someone in mind since they knew Wise was going to be gone around mid-season. They'll get a yes man and someone they can control.
