Best James Bond (Actor)
#1
Which actor portrayed James Bond the best?

Sean Connery
(1962 to 1971, plus a final "unofficial" Bond film in 1983)
"Dr. No" (1962), "From Russia with Love" (1963), "Goldfinger" (1964), "Thunderball" (1965), "You Only Live Twice" (1967), "Diamonds are Forever" (1971) and the 1983 version "Never Say Never Again.")

George Lazenby
(1969)
(Only one film, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service") Backed out of a seven-year contract to do more Bond films. Producer Albert R. Broccolli asked Connery to return to the role and paid him $1.25 million plus 12.5 percent of the film's profits. Connery came back. For the record, George's film is considered a Top 10 Bond movie by almost every Bond fan.

Roger Moore
1973-1985
"Live and Let Die" in 1973."The Man with the Golden Gun" (1974), "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977), "Moonraker" (1979), "For Your Eyes Only" (1981), "Octopussy" (1983) and "A View to a Kill" (1985).
Regrettably, according to some critics, Moore overstayed his welcome - playing the role well into his 50s. Spy Who Loved and For your Eyes are considered two of the Top 10 Bond films ever.

Timothy Dalton
1987-1989
"The Living Daylights" (1987) Dalton's James Bond was originally supposed to be played by Pierce Brosnan, but NBC renewed his contract for a fifth season of "Remington Steele" and Brosnan was out, at least for a while. Dalton signaled a return to a more rough and tough Bond style. However, public reaction to Dalton as Bond was somewhat mixed. Dalton's only other Bond film was "Licence to Kill" (1989). Dalton left the role prior to his third film, which was scheduled to be shot then released in 1991.

Pierce Brosnan
1995-2002
Brosnan was a hit, and many argued that he was the best Bond since Connery. Brosnan played Bond four times: "Golden Eye (1995), "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997), "The World Is Not Enough" (1999), and "Die Another Day" (2002). Brosnan was reportedly fired from the role prior to his fifth film as Bond.

Daniel Craig.
(Oct. 14, 2005-Present)
"Casino Royale," (2006) and "Quantum of Solace" (2008) Craig is the first blond actor to play Bond and only the second Englishman (behind Moore) to star in the role.

Sean Connery, easily

Connery; NO contest.

Craig is my favorite of the Bondsmen! Sean Connery was plain cool, and I really like him. Roger Moore probably would have been my favorite, but I just could not take him seriously watching his movies when he played the homosexual in whatever comedy it was that Cuba Gooding Jr. was in. I liked Brosnan and really liked the way the typecast him as the tough lover. Timothy Dalton was just plain horrible!

I am going to sit down over the summer and try to watch all of them. (Except the Dalton's, lol)

Sean Connery is Bond. There is no debate about it. Roger Moore is next in line. Daniel Craig, I think, is the next best. Brosnan, Dalton and Lazenby are the rest.
