C-Adams
1b-Brown
2b-Miller
SS-Vanhoose
3b-Pugh
LF-Ison
CF-Grimm
RF-Williams
DH-Subby
I see a lot of things wrong with this line-up. First of all its wrong. Second of all Cantrell will see a lot of time cathing and may even be the full time catcher because Adams plays the outfield and Cantrell may do that to. In Paintsville best interst, they need Subby and Watkins in the lineup hitting. Problem neither is good in the field. But Subby could play first and Brown play outfield (did it last season) and then put Ison at second base and Miller on the becnh. This may not be the best defense but it would be the best for the hitting. Just my opnion though. Oh and Pugh has to play third, his arm is better than JD and with Paintsville young pitching a lot of balls will be going that direction.

Not to that I'm aware of.

OK,!!! After talking up possible lineups with several knowledgable people on this particular team and it's players!
Here is a few different looks, that some might not have considered.

With JD Vanhoose and Josh Watkins playing:
2-Corey Adams, Shane Cantrell
3-Andrew Brown, Kyle Sublett
4-Travis Ison, Jonathon Miller
5-JD Vanhoose, Josh Watkins
6 Daniel Pugh, JD Vanhoose
7-Shane Grimm
8-Corey Humpries
9-Kevin Williams
DH-Kyle Sublett

Without Vanhoose and Watkins

2-Corey Adams, Shane Cantrell
3-Kyle Sublett, Andrew Brown
4-Travis Ison, Jonathon Miller
5-Andrew Brown, Travis Ison
6-Daniel Pugh
7-Shane Grimm
8-Corey Humphries
9-Kevin Williams

Andrew Brown has as much baseball knowledge as anyone on the team, and in a few peoples opinions, could easily make the transition from first to third. I was told he has even played some at third in the past.

Not a bad line-up at all, just wondering though if JD's arm will let him play third

After basketball season, Coach Howard gave the b-ball players some days off before they had to report. Pugh and Grimm showed the next day, J.D. did not. When ask the next day if he was going to play he told some of the players he planned to focus on basketball and go to some camps this summer. He reported to practice Monday which was the deadline. I'm glad to see him out and I was concerned. I was the one who said he wasn't playing, are you calling me a dummy Guru??
