This is the first time in 72 years (since 1934) that the tigers won their District Championship, but not the first time they've made it to the regionals since '34.  The tigers played for the regional championship in 1982.  Remember, runners up in the district make it to the regionals also.

Jackson City didn't play for the regional championship in 1982. They lost to Owsley County in the first round of the region 63-60. MC Napier defeated Leslie County in 3 OT's in the champonship game in '82.
