OK, so now all of a sudden Dwight's OK with Boston. This is getting hard to keep track of. For months, it's been assumed that Howard would not consider Boston on his list of teams to go to. Multiple reports have indicated he's expressed that he will not re-sign there if traded to the Green Team. But now there's different information... from Howard's own mouth.
And if Howard is still available â if the Magic donât blink and move him before the March deadline â Câs president Danny Ainge will undoubtedly put in a call to Team Dwight.
The question is whether heâll answer.
âAlways. Always,â Howard told the Herald. âIâd always listen to a team like that.
âMy thing is I want to win. Itâs not something like Iâm doing this for money. I win. I want to do it my way.â
There may be two problems for the Celtics in that last paragraph. Howard may question whether the club can win with him, Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, a collection of minimum salary veterans and a few children. And his âwayâ likely means a bigger stage.

This does not mean that Boston is at the top of, or near the top of the list for Howard. He's made his choices pretty clear. But Boston has continually dogged him in the playoffs. Joining them would be joining an organization all about winning, who he knows will be able to build around him. He'd likely have Rajon Rondo as well, since the trade package would probably include the Big 3. The Magic have reportedly been looking for veteran players who can help them win now instead of younger players. If they want old guys, Boston's got them.
(Side note: Please try and imagine Rajon Rondo's surliness next to Dwight Howard's effusive jolliness. Unintentionally funniest duo ever.)
But Howard hasn't been all about winning. He's not targeting Chicago, which gives him the best chance to win a title. He clearly wants the money and fame that comes with Los Angeles or New York. If winning is what matters, you don't put the Nets at the top, no matter how good Deron Williams is. The Celtics are a long shot, but Howard would listen to the offer. From there it would come down to Danny Ainge and if he could pull off the sales job of his life.

Howard would do anything to get out of Orlando

That's nice that he would listen to it.
Since he can make the decision and everything.

They need to just trade him to the Lakers and get it over with so we can stop hearing about it lol.

Howard is just wanting out. Orlando will keep him until the last moment possible. Chances are, a trade is already ready to go, but the Magic are just getting all they can out of him.

I feel like if they trade him he is going to a Western conference team. Magic wouldnt trade him to a conference rival and allow him to stand in there way of the playoffs. They rather send him to the West so they dont have to go through him to get to the finals in the future. Just my opinion on this one. But Melo was sent to a new conference, Williams too.

I agree, but Orlando isn't going to be in the eastern conference title game without him anytime soon. Too me it is business.

I agree. but as an organization they arent going to think that way. At least I would hope not. Every gm and owner should expect to complete deals and make moves to be in title contention. I dont think any gm, owner, or anyone else involved should be like "ah lets just trade him to the celtics or bulls. No sense in us worrying about him we arent going to contend for the next 10 years no way." Id be handing out some "YOUR FIREDD!!"'s left and right with that kind of attitude.

^That is the exact problem in Sacramento. For years (maybe even still today), they had the lowest paid head coach in the NBA, lowest paid assistants, lowest paid GM, were NEVER EVEN NEAR the top of the salary cap.
Maybe not in the MLB, but in the NBA, you get what you pay for.

I dont see how Orlando ca't bring in some talent to help him out. They have him and some decent role players, a good PG (Nelson), all it would take is a another good SF or PF. You can't tell me they can't do that.

I mean let's say he stuck it out and they accuire a great player in the draft. What if they got Sullinger or Robinson to help Howard down low? What if they got MKG or Barnes? They could have a good team there. He could sign a one year deal and see what they can do in the off season.

You make an excellent point. The Magic went to the NBA Finals in a year where Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, Courtney Lee, and Jameer Nelson all had good years. I think another solid, or star wing player would be able to get the Magic back into title contention.

Im not sure I like the idea oh Howard going to the Celtics.. This makes them better yes but Pierce Garnett and Allen are in the later days in their career.
What happens when they leave?

Wouldnt surprise me to see him end up some where like Golden State.
Doesnt the Clippers also have a lot of cap room left?

IMO, if Howard got to play with an elite perimeter player his offensive numbers, mainly his points, would increase substantially. Which makes me believe the Lakers would be a great fit for him.

Howard is just really causing nothing but trouble with Orlando with the talk about moving.
