Kentucky remained perfect in the Southeastern Conference despite a far from perfect game against Florida.

The sixth-ranked Cats needed a big run early in the second half and some intestinal fortitude late to hold off the Gators' rally to win 57-52 at a soldout Memorial Coliseum on Sunday.

After trailing by as many as seven points late in the first half, Kentucky used a huge 17-2 run to open the second half and grab a comfortable 38-23 lead on the Gators.

Florida (13-7, 3-4 SEC) was held to just one bucket in the seven minutes of the half as UK surged ahead in front of 7,888 at Memorial Coliseum.

The Gators responded with an 11-3 rally and cut it to single digits several times, and they managed to cut it to two points in the final few seconds, but UK held on for the win.

Keyla Snowden led Kentucky (18-2, 7-0 SEC) with 11 points, including making five of the Cats' final six free throws to win it.

Kastine Evans added to a balanced UK attack with 10 points and seven rebounds. Samarie Walker added nine points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.

Brittany Henderson had eight points.

The announced crowd at Memorial was 7,888, the eighth-largest to see a women's basketball game there.

The Cats' 21 points at the break were their fewest in a first half this season. They made just nine of their 29 attempts and missed all five three-pointers.

Much like she did at Georgia last week, A'dia Mathies struggled in the first half, playing only 11 minutes and missing both shots she attempted.

Walker continued the career night she started at Georgia, scoring six points, grabbing three rebounds and blocking two shots in the first half alone.

UK scored the game's first four points on Bria Goss shots, but then Florida responded by scoring 10 unanswered. The Gators led by as many as seven points in the first half.

Another hard fought victory! Keep it up ladies!

Over the last 3 seasons Kentucky's men's and women's basketball teams have gone 90-2 at home. Kentucky now has a 1.5 game lead over UT in the SEC. Their next 3 games are against the 3 worst teams in the SEC, so barring a major upset they should easily win their next 3 games. Kentucky has really struggled shooting the ball lately but they have still found ways to win. If they get hot, watch out!
