This link isn't for real. If you ask me, I'd say whoever posted that is full of b-s!

I didnt think that the JBS would allow students to start their first year there as juniors. Dont you have to be enrolled as a freshman or be in there from the lower levels to even be able to attend school there?
03-03-2006, 12:26 PM
I posted in an earlier thread that i had heard the same thing that Slone was goin to be at JBS next season!!!!!
03-03-2006, 01:01 PM
I went to this link and read every post this reporter has wrote. He could be someone who knows what he is talking about or just trying to stir the pot!! I believe we should just all wait and see what happens between now and and the end of the season.I think if Landon is going to walk he will not wait until after the school year to do so.He will leave immediatley after the season is over this way he could get adjusted to his surroundings once again.I think he is a great talent that could play on any team, but if he never settles down at one school he will not be able to concentrate on his game and improving his skills.I could not imagine what it must be like to hear this all the time he is going here or he is going there!!! The reporter whoever he is also wrote a post about Thompson and May.He did not say anything about those two that would lead someone to beleive he is bogus.I really don't know what to think I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens!!!

Well from what I've heard and SLONE actually telling me, he may plan on suiting up for the Tigers Football team as well next year. I think it is someone just trying to stir up stuff and have everyone wondering if it is true or not like they are right now, that way people will be asking everyone including him during crunch time. Not happening, I also hear that Coach Runyon is planning a trip to a big tourney for next year, much like he did in 96-98 with those boys. I don't know if he's taking them to Vegas or not, but somewhere to get his team ready for post-season play next year against great talent.

Good ridance is all I can say. One of the most selfish and arrogant players that has ever played at Paintsville. He has been running with bad company so I can see that being a reason to.
03-03-2006, 02:04 PM
I wouldn't call Jarred Keaton and JD VanHoose bad company. I don't think he's selfish or arrogant, thats his style of ball, it seems to be working right now. If you ever tell him great game or anything like that he'll just say I'm glad we won. Yeah, thats REAL SELFISH. And when you score almost a thousand points in your freshman season, almost set the school record for points against the top team in the 15th in the regional tourney on their home court in the first round, you have the right to be a little cocky as long as it doesn't affect everyones play. Sounds like to me a lot of people in the region want this rumor to be true, because in the past 3 days I've seen 40 threads, 100's of posts and all that non sense. I'm going to go ahead and tell you, you are wasting time. The 5 soph's will finish out their career at Paintsville. Next year, they are going to a big national tourney like they used to go to back in 96-98 to get the boys ready for a post-season run. I'm sure it won't be Vegas hoopin it up against Mike Bibby like they did that one year, but I'm sure they'll play against some great talent and a lot better than what people around this area has seen in a long time.

Well true or not a kid has to do whatever he feels is best for him. If he wants to leave then he should, because if he doesn't wanna be there then he isn't helping anyone by being there.
03-03-2006, 02:16 PM
Very true words moofer.
03-03-2006, 02:18 PM
Sounds pretty interesting, does any one have any facts on where the kid might end up?
03-03-2006, 02:49 PM
There may be something behind this because I've heard this "rumor" for the entire season. It seems that people always think the grass is greener on the other side. Alot of teams in the 15th would love to be in Painstville's shoes, but apparently Painstville doesn't even want to be in its own shoes.
03-03-2006, 03:36 PM
I have herd this rumor also...
03-03-2006, 03:45 PM
It is rumor, until it happens!!
No matter where the source is coming from!!
Landon is a great talent, and if he wanted to go somewhere to try and better himself, then great for him!!! If he stays, then that is great as well!
No matter what happens, the sun will still come up, and shine on 'Ol PHS as it always has!
As for running with bad company. That is such a joke!!!

Man i wished people would stop all of this garbage. if its a rumor or if its the truth i wished it would stop. Can u imagine being 16 yrs old and getting on this site and about 30% of the post are about you. most of them are saying how selfish and arrorgant you are. I was watching WYMT the other night and they showed 3 highlites of landon .the first was an assist, the second and low and behold it was another assist. ( SELFISH) and the 3rd was the shot that extended there season. Jealousy seems to me. Landon is a first class kid, I know this to be a fact i know him very very well. He is such a team player. Can't say that about all on the team. Well can't say that about one of them. Landon if you read this bud keep your head up and play hard, but the most important thing about sports Landon is you must have fun bud. This is the best time of your life. My suggestion to you is to not even read most of the garbage on here. I know you do though heck your a teenager. Like i said bud just have fun and the best of luck tonight.

Guys, hate to ruin the "rumor" party but he isn't leaving. He's happy here, we are happy to have him and I agree this thread is absolutely ridiculous. BTW, if it is true then I think we may get Clark Stepp and a 2nd Round draft pick in the trade!!!!!!!

Hahaha, like I said on the other thread about it, its about as true Elvis rockin' the titty bars in Memphis, or a crew of goats taking sides with Chuck Norris to take down a drug lord on Walker Texas Ranger. Not happening even though a lot are wishing that it was true.

I have to be honest with you guys, I dont think JBS needs him.

WOW. I'll not adress the personal attacks but do you want to take a wild guess about who was the assist leader for Paintsville last year? I'll give you a hint, his first name is Landon.

Sorry, but he is actually second on the team with 93 assists (3.1 apg). Daniel Pugh leads the team with 99 assists (3.3 apg). Close enough for me though!!!

First of all Paintsville should not worry about it because their real star is Vanhoose, and just as an observer I think he does not get the respect he deserves. They would not have made it through either district game without him. (check the stats) Slone is a great player, I do not want to take anything away from him, but lets give credit where it is due. Paintsville has a whole supporting cast and if one leaves (especially Slone) they have plenty enough talent to fill his shoes, I think all the other starters have not gotten the attention and hype that Slone has and I for one do not get it. Paintsville, Vanhoose is your rock.
Second, I doubt that June B. needs another star. We all know the family connection and I do not think they would want anyone who might steal any thunder from Clark. So if Landon wants to be the "star" of a team, best not go there, because Mr. Stepp already has that job.

My fault, thought you were talking about this year, it was too early when I posted!!

I think Grimm is the kid who doesn't get enough respect. But i can tell you right now, from my own personal experience with Runyon, you better not worry about who the star is in tourney time. You play as 1

Wake up! LOL just kidding. I knew that Landon lead the team last year in assists but he had to play PG a lot with Bundy(injury) and of course Pugh not playing; but the fact that he has nearly 100 assists this year playing the 2/3 man proves even more that he is a team player. What say you?
