Sheldon Clark 51 Hazard 45

Final from Hazard. Much closer game then I thought. The Cardinals appear to be struggling right now. Do they have some injuries.

Congratulations Sheldon Clark

Yes Katelyn Newsome is out with a high ankle sprain and without her they do struggle badly.

I was told Katelyn Newsome played last night and was held to 2pts and that Hazard focused on her defensively and had oppurtunity to win just missed a few shots in the end to pull out the win. Does anyone have any stats?

This team is adjusting to the graduation of Carla Booth. Teams had to focus on her and the game came easier for her team mates.

Katelyn Newsome did not play against Hazard last night. She played the first 3 minutes of the game then came out and never returned. I was told they just wanted to see if she could go on her ankle and were saving her for the District games.

The Lady Cards will be fine. Have you checked out their schedule? They have played some of the top teams in the state. They are 2 and 0 in the District standing right now. Newsome got a concussion in one of the tournaments they were in over Christmas and had to set out 4 games. Looking at the KHSAA website they were something like 7 and 6 going into Jan last year.

Playing the top teams in the state and competing against the top teams in the state are two different things. They lost to those teams by an average of 32 points per game. Highlands, Boone County, Whitley County, Marion County and Anderson County. I believe they are one of the top teams in the 15th region, but not the state.
