Bill Maher Takes Heat Over Tim Tebow Tweet
#1
Even in defeat, Tim Tebow creates controversy -- this time in Tinseltown.

HBO's Bill Maher created a firestorm over the Christmas weekend with a scathing reaction to Tebow's subpar performance in Buffalo. Shortly after Tebow threw four interceptions in the Broncos' lopsided defeat to the Bills, Maher turned to his Twitter page to poke fun at the very religious NFL star. (And a warning: Maher's tweet includes harsh language and divisive references.)

"Wow, Jesus just [screwed] #TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve! Somewhere ... Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler "Hey, Buffalo’s killing them," Maher tweeted.

Maher, a proud atheist who supports legalizing pot, same-sex marriage and is a board member for PETA, upset a number of conservatives, according to Entertainment Weekly. Eric Bolling of Fox News responded to Maher by calling him "disgusting vile trash," among other things.

Tebow didn't bother responding to Maher, but plenty of his fans did. Some called for a mass cancellation of HBO subscriptions over the offensive tweet. "Real Time with Bill Maher," is scheduled to return to the premium cable channel on January 13, 2012

Does anybody seriously listen to this idiot?

Its one thing to hve your own beliefs, but it another to keep on mocking some one faith as this guy does every time he gets any attention.

What a complete dousche bag.

Seeing that he supports legalizing pot I am pretty sure he was high when he made the tweet...

I personally do not like him. I think the reason he is on HBO is because no other stations would have him.

I do dislike this idiot and have found that I never watch anything that he is on.

Obviously he knew he was going to create controversy, that is why he wrote it.

Now the HBO cancellation petitions can hurt him.

Want to know how to stop talking heads like him, DO NOT WATCH! Encourage others not to watch. If you want to go a step further, email or call HBO and tell them that if he is on there, you and all your friends and family are going to cancel their subscriptions, lol.

Tweeting, talking, watching and giving attention to these guys only makes it worse.

Considering Imus lost his job over calling the Rutgers players, "nappy headed hoes", i could as easily see this as being just as bad, just a different situation thats not racial but maybe somewhat prejudice.
How funny would it be to see this guys show gets cancelled lol.

I'm not a Bill Maher fan(never watch him), but I do see a double standard with FOX. They call Bill "disgusting vile trash" for his tweet, and shout "free speech" when Dr. Laura used the N word(several times) in one of her rants.

Theres definitely a double standard for almost everything.
In this case, its sad to know that people actually watch and like this guy.

The guy is a jerk with absolutely no talen at all. I don't know why HBO has him. He stands for all the wrong things and people should stand against him. This doesn't bother Tebow though. He knows that he will have to put up with this kind of stuff and he still stands for Christ with grace and dignity. Tim Tebow is a winner in the biggest game of all.....EVERLASTING LIFE...THROUGH JESUS CHRIST....

What a complete dousche bag.

I have the same problem with him.

Bill Maher leans left of left and the elitist in the industry will sweep this away claiming free speech.

He has been and will be a vile angry white guy

He can have his own beliefs, but he needs to respect others beliefs and the way they practice them! Tebow never does anything to no one. He just goes out and plays the game he loves. And he gives all his credit to the man that made it possible!

This guy is insane!!
