Newport Central Catholic 66, Dixie Heights 40: Senior forward Nicole Kiernan scored 16 points and pulled down 14 boards to help NewCath (3-1) rebound from its first loss. Kiernan now has two double-doubles on the season.

Kiernan is actually just a sophomore. And she is just going to continue to improve. Strong, physical young lady with a good feet and a nice touch.

NCC is a lot better than I thought they would be given the loss of 6-7 seniors from last season. But I shouldn't be, knowing how Coach Ronnie Dawn just continues to put together good team after good team.
