I know i may be getting ahead of myself, but this may be one of the best group of girls Whitley has ever had and there best player is only a sophomore.
I honestly believe she is better than Taylor was at that age and she could very well lead Whitley to a region title.
26 pts against Harlan and 21 tonight (could have been A LOT more) is a heck of a start to a season by a sophomore.
The Powers girl is a great passer as well and can score when she needs to.
Whitley also has pretty good size with Anderson and Craig.
Im looking forward to the rest of this year, these girls could make some noise.

I have read several of your post. It appears you are someone close to Brandi Smith or part of her family. I've several important points that you don't mention about this team. Smith would not be scoring this kind of points without the presence of Craig and Anderson on the floor. Craig is a "BEAST" on the floor, her outstanding ability puts fear in every team Whitley Co. faces. She is the ultimate team player, who puts "TEAM" ahead of scoring points. Take her off this team and Whitley is average at best. She is an outstanding shot blocker, rebounder, defender and passer. She would have double digit scoring every game if she received the ball when she is posted up. If there is one thing that may prove to be Whitley Co's downfall in the future, it's not getting her the ball more. Anderson has matured into a seasoned player who sees the floor really well, can shoot the 3-pointer, rebound, defend and block shots. Her decision making has improved as well, which makes her another threat for teams to worry about. There are other very good players like Powers and Johnson. So the real deliema for other teams is "Who do we Stop?" Whitley Co. is loaded with talented girls and will be for at least two more seasons. GO LADY COLONELS!!! :Cheerlead

I watched the game against Harlan Ind. and all I got to say is.....that Craig girl is one of the best players I have ever seen. She is the most unselfish player who makes everyone around her better. The Powers girl seems to work really well with the inside girls. I think Whitley would be better with her as the point guard. One thing for sure, this is one talented team!! :worthy:

You are right on the money with this. I would like to add that the Powers girl works better with the inside girls than does Smith. She seems like more of a team player and the coach might want to consider making her the point guard.

Actually no, ive never met her or spoken a word to her. I wouldnt care to tell you if i did. I have a little cousin on the football team and i dont care to talk about him in other threads but i am in no way part of that girls basketball program or do i have anything to do with them.
Im just a simple fan.
Now, if you would have read my post, you would have notices that i brought up the other players SEVERAL times, especially Craig.
Whitley is loaded, and at this point IDK if there is a team other than Clay in this region that can beat us. Not saying it wont happen, we just look that good right now.

McCreary will continue to improve! They had a good win over North Laurel and they have a new coach.... Look for them to improve on last years record!
