SOUTH OLDHAM
Coach: Frank Wright (eighth year).
Last season: 22-6 (lost to Walton-Varona 47-45 in overtime in second round of Eighth Region tournament).
Player to watch: G Jasmine Whitfield (Sr., 5-11, 20.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) is a Cincinnati signee and an All-State candidate.
Other top players: C Mary Dye (6-0, Sr., 12.4 ppg, 8.6 rpg) has signed with Bellarmine; G/F Maddie Wright (5-7, Sr., 3.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg) and G Lissa Gamsky (Sr., 5.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg).
Outlook: Experience is the Dragonsâ main asset. âWeâve got a number of players that have played quite awhile,â Wright said. âThey should be familiar with each other and familiar with most of our opponents.â Whitfield continues to develop each season. âSheâs pretty versatile, a pretty complete player,â he said. âShe gives us a boost offensively and defensively.â
