ST. XAVIER
Coach: Kevin Klein (fourth year).
Last season: 16-11, lost to Collegiate 45-43 in 25th District semifinal.
Player to watch: Robert Shaw, a 5-10 sophomore guard, will run the show after averaging 4.6 points last season. Klein said Shaw already is attracting looks from NCAA Division I schools.
Other top players: F Chris Mitchell (6-5, Sr., 4.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg); F Nathan Smith (6-2, Sr., 1.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg); C Brock Kiesler (6-9, Jr., 3.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg); G Justin Moody (5-11, Jr., 4.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg); G Will Glasford (5-10, Jr., 1.7 ppg, 1.0 rpg).
Outlook: The Tigers must replace five key seniors, including their top three scorers. Along with Shaw, look for Kiesler to emerge as a top scorer. Klein said he has a chance âto be one of the top big men in the region.â With Male learning a new system, St. X could be the district favorite.
