Eagles control the LOS and convert a huge 54 yard run by Gound late in the game.

Ugly effort by Belfry as they need a 65 yard pas to even make it 21-14.

Jude finishes around 140 yards including a 56 yard scamper for a TD.

Pirates were riddled with missed opportunities and mental errors as they commit numerous false starts and put the ball on the ground probably 4 or 5 times (only lost one). JC imposed their will up front and when Belfry needs a stop the Eagles were able to convert time and time again.

Tyler Williams played very well for Belfry. JC gets a huge contribution from Gound and the FB Dillon.

If you're going to have a bad game, Belfry picked the best week to do it.

About 85% of the people on this site had Belfry picked to win. Just because JC played horrible one game against a good Ashland team, doesn't mean their season was over. This is a good team...they proved it tonight. May be "30" years until Belfry beats Central again. Good game....best of luck to both of these teams in the playoffs.

I know JCHS stats have been a source o controversy..but based on the yardage marks in my head I think WSIP's are more accurate

I knew Belfry would find the going a little tougher than expected. JC had a bad game @ Ashland. The #1 advantage Ashland had was getting to play JC back to back years at their place. JC is much better on turf and Ashland is much better on grass. It would be great if Ashland and JC could meet in the playoffs. It was good too see JC's QB and FB have good games those two kids are a big part of the future of JCHS football.

If you knew JC's stat keeper you wouldn't give that a second thought. He's as straight as they come.

Pirates just didnt showup tonight,they wasnt hardly any belfry fans there and the place was dead.I hope we dont play this way in the playoffs if so we are going home for good Sad

Good game Central. Plain and simple. They wanted it more.

Stupid mistakes killed the Pirates tonight. Worst game I have seen the Pirates play in a long time. Missed assignments, poor blocking and a lot of players acted like they really didn't want to play. It's called heart! You gotta want it more and tonight Central wanted it more.

Hopefully that was Belfry's bad game for the season because starting next weekend it's win or go home and I expect to see the real Pirate team, like the ones that played against Ashland playing for a AAA state championship in 5 weeks.

Rest up, heal up and get your heads right Pirates.

On a side note... I think this game can be used as evidence against all the Matney haters who thinks all he is doing is trying to get Jude the record by any means necessary.

Jude had 16 carries tonight.... Matney could have ran him 25-30 times and potentially got within spitting distance of the record but he chose to execute his gameplan and go for the W. He worked Dillon and Gound much more and got results in the 4th Qtr as a result. JC executed a very good gameplan and that is what got them the W tonight.

As a Belfry fan I am frustrated with the mistakes, penalties, and missed opportunities...but that wasn't what gave JC the win. JC won with execution, lineplay, and making the plays in the clutch. Knowing Pirate fans there will be a of discussion about what "could have happened" and I just want to make it clear right now that JC simply was the better team tonight and earned the W.

Yes.. Belfry was missing one of their starting HB's and their starting CB (wouldnt have helped enough IMO)..but otherwise the Pirates played everyone to the very last second.

Ashland is really not that good of a team. 3A is going to be a tougher row to hoe with Bell in the picture this year. Belfry will have to play much better than they did tonite to make it back to State finals. Goodluck to Belfry in the playoffs

First, congrats to the eagles. Game well played. Belfry shot their selves in the foot over over. JC kept to their gameplan and simply dominated the pirates. Poor tackling against exellent running and stupid penalties were the pirates downfall. I said last week poor tackling was a worry and it showed. If there was a good thing to come out of a loss this was the game to have it. It will show the pirates they r not invinsable and where their weaknesses are. Best of luck to jc and good luck the rest of the way.
