58th District Tournament

I know we still have a couple of weeks till this kicks off, but the pairings have been set and I was wondering who everyone thinks will win the championship and which two teams will advance to the regional tournament.

#1 seed Betsy Layne
vs.
#4 seed Allen Central

#2 seed South Floyd
vs.
#3 seed Prestonsburg

I think it will be Prestonsburg against Betsy Layne for the championship with P-burg winning on their home court.

Given the parity in the region, Any of the four teams have a chance at getting to the region this year. Allen Central can be a dangerous team especially in the first round, Betsy Layne has potential to make a serious run or get eliminated on the first night of the district. The other game is a toss up, I believe whoever wins that game will be the district champion. Ill go with South Floyd but I wouldnt lay any money on that though.

Betsy Layne......they can make it past AC easy if they play the team ball they have been......I'd say they will be playing Pburg and Bl is one of the only teams to beat Pburg at home this yr.....Go Bobcats!

Very good point bobcat. I'd have to say BL is probably one of the favorites for the regional tourney this year as well.

Which game will be played first?

It being at Prestonsburg they should have no problems taking the title.

No I'm sick of SF fans puting every other team down. It's like no other team should even be on the same court as the mighty raiders. And to hell with it if they lose cuz we'll just blame the officials. And to be honest, I think Ryan Johnson is a whiney little punk who can't keep his mouth shut long enough to play a game. Personal opinion of mine.

Well dont worry about sf putting teams down for long casue when district tournment rolls around sf will be ready and will win another district title....

I agree with you opinion blackcatfan4life and i think the way BL has been playing recently beating both PCC and Paintsville they should be able to beat AC and i think it will be BL agianst P-burg

Yeah Pburg and South Floyd will be a barn burner !!! The Atmosphere for that game will be GRRREAT !!! I look for Pburg to play Betsy Layne in the Finals Though but if SF defeats pburg i will be pulling for the Raiders !!!

I gotta agree with Blackcatfan4life on this one, If South Floyd loses I think their will be quite a few "the refs screwed the raiders" type posts on here. Call me crazy but its just a bit too uncanny that everytime it seems they lose its always because the zebras didnt call the game the right way.

If you want the truth sf's record is better than betsylayne...Over all and in the dregion i think sf deserves a lil praise because they have the 2nd best record in the region 9-3 .

How much credit do you Raiders want? Practically every post on here in some shape, form, or fashion ends up talking about South Floyd. Whining about this, or whining about that. I think maybe you guys should start your own site, then you continue to live in Raiderville, Ryan Johnson could be President, Ethan could be Vice President, and so on. Name your streets, plaster your faces on billboards, and have your own tournament. It will be a Betsy Layne/Prestonsburg Final.

That would be a pretty good idea but we have already done that. its www.fu**you.com. Our people might just brag about us a little to much, but you know it and everybody else does. Were the best the district, he** were 9-3 in the region..What's P-Burgs, Betsy Laynes, and Allen Centrals regional record. WOW!!..they all total for 8 and 140. I really do think that they all three have a chance to win the region, Prestonsburg could maybe even win state if they all play hard and the all mighty Sean Leslie gets a few blocks. Hes 9"11, what do you expect him to do? Everyone else in the region barely breaks 6 foot. Aint Lewis Barnett a Mr.Basketball candidate? Heard he was from a few people but I'm really not for sure. Bobby Hughes is hands down best shooter in the state. He'll break the state record "14" before he graduates, or he turns 20 his junior year and is inelligable. I look for Prestonsburg and Allen Central to be in the finals though.
Prestonsburg 120 Allen Central 4(which will be scored by Ryan Collins, another Mr.Basketball candidate.)

I'm going with South Floyd to win but it's going to be a tough one and I think they will be playing Allen Central in the Championship I know thats a long shot but oh well.

LMAO I love when ppl talk about ryan like that... They r mad b/c he talks shit to the other team the whole night and they can't do nuttin about it... I talked to some of the refs the other night about ryan and everyone of tem said he has changed so much this year and they don't have a problem with him, so u can't say he cries to them, he just makes ur team look bad and u can't stand it

To be quite honest, a lot of posters, aside from the SF fans, blame a loss on the refs. No one wants to lose, so we all find someone or something to blame it on. Very seldom do you ever see a post saying, "We got beat by the better team tonight" or anything dealing with giving the opposing team props....

On the otherhand, your post about RJ was uncalled for. If that's your opinion, then so be it, but there is no need to make a personal attack to him. Like him or not, he's a good ball player....

He hasn't done anything to make "our" team look bad. The best thing he has done for the Raiders IMO is get thrown out and suspended. They are a better team without him. He is just holding them back if you ask me.

blackcatfan4life you must know very little about basketball..Ryan Johnson is by far the best point guard in the 15th region, he can break any press by himself even down state were the competition is harder, the raiders without him are nothing and just for the record he has made anyone whos tried to guard him from p-burg look stupid

I think it is who wants it the most. Prestonburg has the home court advantage. BL is playing very strong and team ball. AC well AC is just AC need not say anymore. SF will be ready.
