Report: Post-recession income falls
#1
Please read this and remember it the next time that Barack Obama repeats the lie that the economy has improved under his watch. Everybody knows, or should know, that the unemployment rate has soared and the inflation rate has risen under Obama, but a recent study shows that real incomes have shrunk since Obama started "fixing" the economy at a faster rate than they did during the recession.

In a nutshell, if made $50,000/yr. when Obama took office, then you have lost the equivalent of about $4,000/yr. in purchasing power. How much more can you afford to lose?

If you look at nothing else from the report, look at the chart that follows the summary of the report.

Quote:Report: Post-recession income falls (from Politico)

Income for American families declined more in the years following the economic recession than it did during the official recession itself, a new study shows.

During the recession, which economists say lasted from Dec. 2007 to June 2009, the median annual household income fell by 3.2 percent, from $55,309 to $53,518, according to a report authored by two former U.S. Census Bureau officials. But in the post-recession period from June 2009 to June 2011, the figure fell by 6.7 percent, from $53,518 in June 2009 to $49,909 in June 2011.

From Dec. 2007 to June 2011, the average income fell by 9.8 percent.

“A decline of this magnitude represents a significant reduction in the American standard of living,” Gordon Green and John Coder wrote.

You posted at 9:13 in the other thread, and 9:54 in this one. Are you on the clock at work? With the time it took you to find this article and post it, plus the time in the other thread, you have screwed off for 45 minutes. Does your boss know that you are "screwing the dog"?

As a taxpaying, citizen, I appreciate your concern that I may be wasting taxpayer dollars by making you look like a fool while logged into a government network. However, it is a federal holiday and my project officer strongly encouraged me and the other members of my team to take a day off after working 10 to 12 hour days for the past few months. I am planning to work at least a half a day at no cost to you, the taxpayer.

Do you have any comments other than ad hominem attacks that are at least tangentially related to the thread topic?

Care to explain? Oh, you mean by posting wrong information about how the union ended up with GM stock, I gotcha. Yea, I'm the fool.

Recognizing the problem is half the battle but I do not think that researchers are close to a cure for what ails you.

I can deal with that, as long as the rest have saw that you post lies.

First, you are posting in the wrong thread. Second, either you did not even read the articles to which you linked in the other thread or your reading comprehension is so poor that you did not understand what you read. If the former is the problem, then I strongly suggest that you read your own articles before making even a bigger fool out of yourself. Please, post to the correct thread next times. Thanks.

Is not calling someone a fool not an ad hominem attack? Where in my post did I ad hominem? I was just wondering if you were screwing your boss while on the clock.

If this is the "Post Recession", then it must be considered the "Early Depression"!

It certainly is, as is calling somebody a dickhead and the long list of names that you have hurled in my direction. One could also say that I only pointed out the obvious and if we put the matter to a vote, I believe that that my opinion would be shown to be widely shared on this forum.

At least the second dip of the recession deserves to become known as the Obama Recession. The damage that Obama's socialist policies have done to our economy will become increasingly obvious as the election approaches. I seriously do not see how he will be a viable candidate in 2012. The longer he waits to withdraw from the race, the worse the Democrats' chances of avoiding an electoral disaster will be.

I absolutely did not attack you in this thread though, and you tried to make it look like I did. Take a poll of BGR members and see how many others also think you are a dickhead . One could say I only pointed out the obvious in that thread that I called you that. Anybody that doesn't agree with you, you hurl insults by the handful.

My exchanges with the overwhelming majority of posters on this forum are amicable, whether we agree or not. You cannot say the same. I respond in kind to personal attacks, which means that many of my responses to you do include insults.

Take this thread for example. You made the very first response a smart-ass comment about me posting on BGR from work, which by virtue of this being a federal holiday, made you look like an idiot with absolutely no help from me. So don't blame me for making you look like a fool. I have plenty of help in that effort.

I don't care if he runs or not but I do not want to see him resign. Joe Biden would not be an improvement and it would be too close to the election to impeach him.

How am I supposed to know that you are a federal employee and get those holidays off? My smartass remark was because you always take up for the employer, and I was pointing out that if you were at work, you were screwing an employer.

I did not say that I was a federal employee. I said that it is a federal holiday, which you should have already known. FYI, October 10 is Columbus Day in this country.

Banks are closed today. This is a holiday for tens of millions of Americans. All you need to know is that I posted a thread topic. I don't get paid by the hour, I get paid for successfully completing projects. If you do not have anything constructive to add to this thread, then maybe you will find a way to contribute in a more positive way to the next one that I start.

I will be looking forward to how you all react if Obama gets reelected, which by all likelihood, he will. We will see.

My plan is to save up and buy a hot dog stand. People have to eat, even during a hopeless depression. Hopefully, there are enough educated people left in this country to prevent that worst case scenario.
