Players?

Looks pretty solid

OK, here is my view:

SV - Great coaching. Was a destiny year. Just don't see it happening again.
PHS - Couple good returning players. But, they can't do it all.
SCHS - Best Big man in the Region (Johnson), JMO though. Bench will hurt them.
JC - We all know Hall. But, who is gonna help him?
BL - Has a few new guys come into the mix could be a hard out for sure. Look out.
Paint - Has the most returning starters and finished real strong last season. Beat JC, SV, SCHS, ER and gave BL all they wanted in All A Championship. Might be biased. But, sleeper IMO.
BHS - Have no clue really
PCC - Lost way to much talent.
ER - Same as PCC.
AC - New coach. Will have a hard time adjusting.

IMHO - This Region is WIDE open! It's just gonna be who ever shows up ready to play come Tourney Time! Who ever uses the season to build, learn and prepare for the post season. Good Luck to all! But, of course...GO TIGERS!!!!

What about PRESTONSBURG???????:Cheerlead:Clap::Cheerlead:Clap::Cheerlead:Clap:

I was thinking the same thing. I think the Blackcats will surprise a few this year in the
15th
#7
Johnson Central Or East Ridge(if the other rumor of the new transfer player) IMO
#8
Why Johnson Central. They lost everything other than hall? I wouldnt be surprised if central doesnt even make the regional tourney.
#9
i just dont see ER pulling it off.
#10
Who are the players?
#11
E.R. will be in the mix with the addition of 2 quality players.

Yeah but what about the mountain kids that will have to sit because of a transfer that came in. To me it isn’t fair

I understand what you are saying, but there are different ways of looking at things. I'm not saying E.R. is a shoe-in for the Regional Title, they aren't, Shelby Valley will have an excellent team and I expect Betsy Layne and Johnson Central to also be in the mix. I was just saying that E.R. will now be in the hunt, whereas before, they probably wouldn't be.

Agreed! I've always said and get knocked for it constantly. But, ''If you can't win with players in your school, you don't need to coach!'' -MisterPerfect

They very well may win, but it sure isn't gonna be hands down. Too many other talented and well coached teams in the 15th for it to be easy for them.

Maybe, but in no way, shape, or form is it ''hands down!''

My picks as of preseason:

1) SVHS (until someone knocks them off, they are still the defending champs)
2) Pikeville (Up and coming young talent to supplement the few returning players from last year make them a solid team)
3) Paintsville (My sleeper pick. Going to be a handful due to returning players)
4) Johnson Central (not quite there yet due to loss of players from last year)
5) Betsy Layne
6) Prestonsburg
7) Sheldon Clark
8) East Ridge (new coach and system, along with new players= growing pains but will be tough come tourney time)
9) South Floyd
10) Belfry (always fight)
11) Allen Central
12) Pike Central

Not bad. I didn't do my by the way I thought they were ranked IMO. I just went by the way the Pause had them ranked and gave my view. I to feel that Paintsville is a sleeper. Cause no one is really talking about them. I mean, YES, they lost Green. BUT, with FOUR returning starters and the rest of the Team finally grasping what coach has been telling them. Which is what they can do as a TEAM! They are bigger and stronger this year and I think you will see some flashes of old, with the up and down the court and in you face pressure. They also have something they haven't had in a while and that is a bench. Should be a fun season to go and watch the Tigers!

I don't know where I would rank them in the Region as a whole, but Magoffin County could definitely be a sleeper in the 57th. I know some people may think I'm crazy, but they only lost one Senior that played and they have one playing again this year that didn't play last year due to an injury who is a very good tall athlete. They also have some very good talent coming from the Middle School this year. Could be interesting to see what happens.
#26
MC is MC. They are gonna scrap no matter who they play.

OTH, I'm just curious as to who they have for an inside presence other than Seth Daniels? I've not been able to come watch many games and I was just wondering who else they have down in the paint?

Can't disagree with that. But they did beat Paintsville last year, and Yeah I know Paintsville beat them as well. Both teams lost a key player. Paintsville lost more in that sense I believe because Green was just a beast and that's all you can say about that lol. But nevertheless, the 57th district is gonna be exciting as always.

I have to agree. Except I would probably put Valley at 3 and Paintsvill at 1. Should be an interesting season to say the least!
