Bulldogs are beginning to show how physical they can be, the line played great on both sides friday night and the running backs ran hard.
Off by 7 points. You're right I am a freaking lunatic.

mr.charlie hustle Wrote:To suggest that PCC will beat the Dawgs by 4-5 TD's is to compare them to Perry, Ashland and P-burg. I think not. As to wheither the Hawks will beat the Dawgs, we shall see. I can tell you that there has been some rather subtle but plesant changes to the "Air Defense" in the kennel. One thing you can be sure of is that the "Dawgs" are now off the porch. The key to this game just might be the Hawk defense against the run and how much clock the "Dawgs " can eat and also if Pike can stop the Pitbull and an OL that seems to be maturing. LC took their lumps from some very nice teams early. They may be starting to get the payoff. Expect the W because that is natural. Don't expect LC to quit because they are the "Dawgs".
The suggestion was not only not a comparison to those teams, it was correct. I will give you credit though, other than one busted assignment, LC's pass D was solid.

Oh really? No way, you say?

I had this one right as far as the winner goes.
I never like seeing L.C. go down, but if they do I am happy it is against P.C.C. my 2nd fav team in the state.

Any stats on QB1(Boggs)?

First time seeing him in person. Wasn't overly impressed (Probably so much hype that it would have required a spectacular performance to be, I went in with high expectations). Very good arm (throws a good ball), accuracy seemed to be lacking tonight, more mobile than advertised. LC played pretty solid deep coverage, PC didn't take many deep shots. Still a pretty good game for a HS QB though.

(mr.charlie hustler) guess the Dawgs better get back on that porch!! LOL... Congrats Hawks, great game!!!

I actually thought that the Hawks did a real good job of managing the clock, which is something they aren't prone at doing.

It was still a very close game going into the 4th quarter, but Pike Central got a couple huge scores late in the game.

Alan Boggs played very well, I'd estimate that he had over 300 total yards including 1 passing TD, and 3 rushing scores. He did throw 2 INT's as well.

Lawrence County played a solid game I felt you guy's got some great talent overall, so keep your chin up and keep fighting.

I eat the crow on this one. The first two/three quarters were good to go. The folks holding the dog chain get this game.Play calls, short kicks and too much token ground. Good game Hawks. By the way it looks that way doesn't it. You wouldn't consider Xing the 4th Q would you?

Good win for the HAWKS!! The defense did a great job tonight holding the Dawgs to 14. The offense added 42 to the boards. GREAT TEAMWORK!! Keep up the hard work.
#13
The Bulldog defense did at good job. The LC Offense has got to put the ball in the air. What is wrong with the Offensive Staff.. these are not the Chuke Williams days of football when you played..when all you do is run and you win the game. Hayden Kiser is a good QB and deserves a chance to play the game. Let your receivers, Lance Clay.. Morgan OBrien..(who was out on this game) , Ricky Goble and your Tight ends Cole Cyrus..a chance to play ball you would just have a different game. Good game to PCC

Pike Central had a problem when Lawrence began punching it inside then going outside, comparable to their struggle with Jeffree Pruitt and Trey Willis. Lawrence County lacks speed, but #75 is one of the baddest players I've seen in our district. Dude is straight frightening. Central really really excelled off that screen pass tonight.

I've now seen him 5 times over the past 2 years. Your assessment is pretty spot on. He forced some throws into coverage he shouldn't have (not uncommon for someone with a good arm though), and I have yet to see him CONSISTENTLY go through his reads. He does it in flashes, but still has a tendency to lock on a receiver early and overlook the easy checkdown sometimes. To be honest, his mobility last night was about the same I've seen from his other games, gets his yardage in big chunks.

LC killed themselves the few times they had momentum, with boneheaded penalties. It was a chippy game, and emotion kept it close until the 4th. The unsportsmanlike on the coach on the sideline when they had a nice runback on a kickoff absolutely KILLED their chances. Someone said something about #75, I agree he was very good, but I also thought #6 showed tough running ability for LC.

Uh,............. did Chuke not also produce the most prolific pass receiver in the history of Kentucky high school football at the same time?????

CONGRATS to PCC's defense did a great job on stopping LC when u had to.

Congrats to PCC

It is really sad for the dawgs! THe coach has no idea how to use what he has on offense. THe tight end senior Cole Cyrus has had I think 8 catches and 4 td's ? He had a 45 yd td last week against Sheldon Clark. Which about 30 yds was all him after the catch. You also have Johnny Bowans a scrappy kid with good hands. A.J Cyrus is one of the best players on the team and they run him in and out on both sides of the ball. THey all make big plays and then they do not get another look!!! JAke marcum and all the offense are great players!! Hayden is a much better QB than the coaches will let him be!! Let em play Coach.

I was coming trough Pikeville last night and found this game on the radio and it was at the half way point in the game. The radio announcer was reading the half time stats and I think he said LC only had like 50 some yards or so and had attempted one pass it it was good for for a TD. I was then able to listen to most of the third quarter before losing the signal but still LC was trying to run the ball and it wasn't working. I don't know what all was going on but the 2 games I have seen this year LC has a pretty good QB. But I will leave it up to the coaching staff they know what they got and I am sure the saw something . Good luck to both teams the rest of the way looks like LC will be on the road for the play-offs. GO DAWGS

I am like you let the coaches do their job. However, THe sad thing is they apparently do not know what to do with this offense. This group of kids has an abundance of talent !!! LC could have a monster passing game

Pike Central put 9 in the box every play. Not even a single safety back. It is painfully obvious to everyone that LC is going to run the ball up the middle 90% of the time. If this team had the best QB and receivers in the state they would still run the same offense. That is what the offensive coordinator believes gives them the best chance to win. However I am extremely disappointed that a coach would take a chance to win away from their team. 8:48 left in game, pcc up 26-14, Lc has 4th and 20 from their own 20 and they go for it. You punt the ball and the defense has to make a stop. The game is still winnable with that much time. Instead you hand the game ball to pcc in spite of all the hard work the Lc defense did in keeping them in game against a good pcc team. 2 int's, a goal line stance, several tackles for loss. Going for it on 4th and 20 from your own end zone is a desperation play that was not necessary and gave away any chance you had of winning. Aside from that, Boggs I believe is a better fullback than a QB. He is a very good player. He may have been having an off night throwing as he had 2 picks and several passes that were off target but his running game was on.

How was Boggs off he went 20 out of 30 for 215 yards and a touchdown. And yes Boggs can run the ball also rush for 115 yards and 3 more touchdown. what did your QB do? There was one bad ball for a int the other one went through the rec hands should have been caught by our guy but that is way it goes. I will take that ever game from our QB good job Boggs. Hell that was our 2nd game in a month we did look a little rusty. Lawrence should be happy we was off a little.

Tell them, the HAWKS was rusty on offense and a little on D.HAWKS can play a lot better than they did, wasn't impressed by LC.There is no way LC is better than POWELL.HAWKS RULE

Great game Hawks & Congrats on the win! It was a slow start, but like someone said in an earlier post, it was only the second game in a month. It is to be expected. Overall, they pulled through & Boggs & the rest of the Hawks had a good game. Time to focus on getting ready for Sheldon Clark next week, despite the season they are having they are not a team to be overlooked or underestimated. CONGRATS on the win over LC & GOOD LUCK against SC next week!!

As i said before congrats pc. Proud of the dawgs even at the end they was still running and playing hard.As someone stated eariler the coaching staff seems odd at times.with that said its there first year together and i think for the most part they are doing a good job.the loss of bentley before the season was huge and its shows.all in all the dawgs give great effort playing calling does need to be twinked.i think the oc will only get better he is winner and a class act.

Boggs must not be too BAD -- getting too many offers from legit D1 schools yet you all continue to try & "downgrade" him game after game on here. Never ceases to amaze me how you all are so knowledgeable of the game & players -- specifically in this situation Boggs. Seriously, what the hell? He's a great kid & if ANY of you actually knew this kid you WOULDN'T CONTINUOUSLY BE SO DAMN HARD ON HIM! I've seen 1st hand this year him taking time to come and work with 3rd/4th graders & 5th/6th graders at Johns Creek Elementary every chance he gets & these kids & parents really love & appreciate this kid for what he's doing. How many High School boys do you know that does that? He does it because he loves the game & because he wants to get these young kids involved and to love it as much as he does. You need to remember before you post on these sights that these kids are reading this crap you all post & think about what you're saying. Regardless of whatever comeback you post to this response -- you are CONTINUOUSLY trying to put this kid down & it's RIDICULOUS!
Back to Boggs -- If anything, looks to me like Coach Chapman may have added to the game plan from what he did last year to show how versatile an athlete Boggs is? Face it, we all know he's got a Canon for an Arm, we saw last year in spurts where he could run the ball but we've seen it more this year FOR SURE that he's definitely a DUAL THREAT QB. You never know what he's gonna do. IMO, he's DEFINITELY one to watch out for because you just do not know what to expect.

i was at this game and I must say it was one of the hardest games i've ever watched LC play. I don't get why Alan Short calls these plays, all he does is call run plays when you have one of the best weapons at qb not throwing the football more than 10 times a game. I guess Short just doesn't want a qb at LC to get the kind of attention that he use to when he played..idiot...Cecil should recognize this and make a change or the call the plays himself.. The offensive line is getting much better but when you are one dimensional its easy to stop... Its not the players its the coaching...I take back all the things I said about this being the best coaching staff LC has ever had... Bunch of idiots.... Its hard to go to school each day and listen to my classmates who play football so upset, but the one common theme amongst the players is how bad the coaches are! It disgusts me that i'm going to look back on my senior year and think about what could have been!!!

No offense, but Chuke is gone and so is the run. Anyone can hand a ball off but when you A QB like Kiser and receivers like Cole Cyrus, AJ Cyrus, Johnny Bowen's, and Lance Clay, why are you not throwing the football. That tells me that there's A coaching problem. If Short cant call offense no better than that, well lets just say he shouldn't be their next year. And you cant produce prolific pass receivers if you don't throw the ball. Like I said No offense and no disrespect to Chuke.
