^ would like to see that happen, but uk is a basketball school and if they want to keep cal around then i dont see that happening. they had a good coach in Rich Brooks but AD Mich Barnhart wouldnt help update the program after making it to all those bowl games so he got fed up and left.
i dont see uk ever being a continuous successful football program, why? because to them basketball is more important.
For example, im gonna tell y'all a story...
Back in the day before D-1 uk once had one of the greatest coaches to ever coach college football, and that was Bear Bryant. While Rupp was coaching basketball the school bought him a Cadillac, you know what they bought Bryant? a wrist watch. That just goes to show you how much football has always meant to uk and thats why their where their at today.

I would like to see Mike Leach. He was the offensive coordinator under Hal Mumme. I think UK is the perfect situation for him and the university. Plus I love the Air Raid. :Thumbs:

This school has the financial backing that could put anyone in the nation into that position. It's that no one is interested no matter how much gets thrown their way!

LOL at Cal giving up his million dollar salary to help out the football team. That's like telling a fish to not swim. haha
And I agree that we could get a big name coach! Most coaches want to be able to walk in and build a name for themselves. And UK is the perfect place. We are a terrible team, not much football tradition, and in the best conference known to man. That's an ideal place for a coach to build a name for himself! If you ask me.

Ahh who cares. I'm a bigger basketball fan than I am Football. I mean I'd like to see the Football team do well - but like Stardust said - It's not about the money, the people just don't wanna come here to play.
UK is known for basketball so of course with Cal we are going to get our recruits - and to help build that resume we have a few titles to come along.. Which probably helps Cal more as well.

UK football will never be amount to anything! Not hatin, just telling the truth. The same reason Kentucky doesnt have a Pro basketball team, nothing will override UK's basketball and there crazy fans. The crazy people of the state would never camp out for tickets to a scrimmage of a NBA team! lol Basketball will always over ride the football in this state!

I actually agree with some of your post, for once. Besides the part that UK football will never amount to anything. I think it will IF we can get a coach that knows success, and is a leader.
