Boyle Co 38 Ind. Tech. 10
#1
Congrats to the Rebs. Looking better.
#2
Great job rebels keep improving.
#3
Their line looked HUGE on paper. Did their line play that bad or did our lines play that good?
#4
Good job Rebels. The indy team was huge, fast, and talented, but not very well coached.
#5
Congrats Rebels

I thought this team would give the Rebels a game. I guess that team wasn't as good as originally indicated.
#7
So Arsenal really never had any weapons????

Indy team was Huge... But not very disciplined.

Boyle looked much better on offense than in past games. Very balanced and the passing game seemed more efficient and improved.

Sadly, the guys playing the outdated music and redundant sound effects from the endzone were still there. And as usual, they were playing it over top of the PA, the band, and the teams trying to line up and run plays. Why haven't they been escorted out yet?

Very big and fast, as advertised. Defense played well. Take away the 101 yd KO return for a TD that should've been blown dead and we only gave up 3 pts. Offense looked better, opened some nice holes, and provided better pass protection for the most part. Good to see Whittle have a great game and be named MVP. He really only made one mistake all night, and made some nice passes under pressure. I think Steve said in post game that he was 12-16.
Great improvement overall from last week, although you can't really compare IT and JH.

Here's the AM article:

Sounds like the 100 yd KO return was a fluke or it would have been 38-3.

I was told that I think near the end of the first half Indy had something like 5 carries for 5 yards.

Defense will help you, even when your offense isn't. The one consistent has been the defense so let's hope the offense keeps improving.

Good win for Boyle. Nice to see the o-line and qb playing well. i think the final stats on Whittle, according to the advocate messenger, were 12-15 for 149 yards with 2 td's and 1 int (one of only two bad passes on the night), plus 5 rushes for 8 yards and 2td's. This is the QB the coaches know he can be, and I believe this is the qb we'll see for the rest of the year. Great win for the team, everyone played well.

Maybe starting Zack at QB woke Casey up. He had by far his best game of the year and should have had another touchdown pass which was dropped. The player for Aresenal Tech who ran the kickoff back for a touchdown definitely had a foot in the endzone. I could see that from the stands at midfield and the ref missed it from 10 feet away. Good job Rebels. Keep improving and we'll be fine.

I think the band adds so much to the game. Playing the school fight song makes for an exciting atmosphere far more than the other music that is played from the endzone and the press box. I must say I was totally imbarassed and that takes a lot. At the ACS game they had a athlete hurt then blaring from the press box some Beetles song(Ithink) "help me if you can i'm feeling down". If that would have been my son I would have went to jail. The press box music should be toned down way down, I'm sure it is far above the OSHA standard. Maybe I'll bring my meter to the next game and take a couple readings.

I tend to agree. I think the band should be the first option for music during the game. Unfortunately, they finish after halftime these days, so that leaves the 2nd half open.

My second option would be the PA system to play some music during the timeouts, but I would hope their selection would be better than what you mentioned above.

The guys with the sound effects and late '80s and '90s music (I guess it's the music from when they went to high school) shouldn't even be an option. It's embarassing, really.

After ever tackle for a loss, they play something that is probably saying "Jam....OH Jam...", but it could be heard as a different, not so family-friendly word.
