Really? I didn't know that he was playing.

How many schools is this?

When did he join the team? That will effect when he can play in a game.

if he plays football with the same intensity as he does in basketball, then he'll be a fine addition. good speed and quickness

He was a student at Rowan last year, he didn't just get there fellas. The title is misleading.

They need all the help they can get.

He needs to be playing! A great athlete. Hate that he left Somerset.

He played through 8th grade. He was a little soft, kind of a scat back on offense up until his 8th grade year but he was fast. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that he hadn't filled out yet and he, along with a lot of this year's seniors at Somerset were playing up with the kids that graduated last year. As an 8th grader, playing against kids his own age he really did a nice job at corner as well as running back and was a much more physical player. I always thought that he could be every bit as good a football player as a basketball player. I'm not sure how the 3 years away will affect him but he has a ton of athletic ability and should be able to help them out in some way.

Yeah I didn't know I never really remembered him at youth football camps and always knew him as a basketball player when he was younger. Thanks Norm.

Well now I have also heard that he is unsure if he will play or not.
But, word is Wes Williams is now eligible to play sports again and is waiting to get cleared by khsaa

Who is Wes Williams? And how can Rowan just add another player after they've already played their first game? Coach Singleton just let players join the team whenever?

Wes Williams was one of the top defenders from last season's team, but he got ruled ineligible for not getting work done in the classroom.

If you are ineligible when school starts, you are ineligible for the entire year.

The only thing that would hold DJ back would be the proper number of practices in pads. I guarantee you that he has an A average in the classroom.

DJ is a pure Athelete and has speed on speed...now if he's ready for tackle football after not playing for at least 3+ years is another question. Glad he's getting to play a the Bria Patch in the Correll Bowl Friday in front of his family and old friends.

Townsend is iffy now from what I have heard. He may or may not play football and is expected to make his decision tomorrow

I'm not understanding how he can just join the team in mid August.

Exceptions can be made for guys you know will immediately help the team. I believe he would immediately help the team. I would think 85%(or higher) of the team would love to have him.

He's got bigger issues than that...
