this statement is untrue since Zeke Pike isn't playing in this game. He has to sit out this game because of his ejection in the playoffs last year

Untrue?????
OK, so, edge to the best QB who will play in the game then!

Pike and Towles attended the Elite 11 camp for best QB's in the nation! Neither is playing. Ncc QB not even on the radar. Not even close to being arguably true statement. It's arguably the most incorrect statement ever posted though. J/K Stardust.

I'd take Dixie by a landslide. Nothing against NCC, but I just think they lost too much experience, whether they have Hightchew or not. Bruns I think will run all over NCC's defense, but I don't know what will happen if Pike doesn't play.

I'll take NCC in a squeaker. Dixie minus Pike certainly makes it a lot more interesting. If I recall when these seniors were freshman NCC was in it till the very end and Pike QB'd that game. Dixie will have a tough time tackling Brady Hightchew.

^ Hightchew is the most elusive offensive player in NKY

yes im going with "untrue". "false" just doesn't cut it sometimes.
I agree with Stardust, Hightchew is the most elusive QB in NKY. I still think Dixie wins this game. Cohorn will be tough to handle if he's at QB. He's freakishly athletic, Dixie will have more depth at the skill positions, and I'm still concerned with NCC's defense.

^ false???? Wait a minute now!!!
Oh, never-mind, I guess you are right:biggrin:
I think if NCC's D line can hold, then they can possibly make this a one dimensional Dixie offense. I don't expect NCC to turn the ball over, thus this game just might come down to special teams. That's where I draw a complete blank for either team.
Dixie will have the advantage with size and this just might come down to whether NCC has enough gas to play four quarters.
But without Pike, I'm going to stick with the Breds!

I definitely agree with Stardust on the part about Hightchew being the most elusive, he's a heck of an athlete. I do disagree with Cohorn being "freakishly athletic." But back to Hightchew, he plays both ways, along with a few others if I recall. So yes if they have the gas to play then maybe they will be able to pull it out. But I will stick with Dixie. Since Pike is out it will definitely be a much closer game. Maybe top game of the week, other than Highlands & Boyle.

^ nky, you just brought up a great point that totally forgot. Hightchew will play both ways, thus if he gets gassed, then NCC has no chance (unless he runs back a few INT's)
Unfortunatley, I have to agree with you about this likely being the 2nd best game in the area. I'd love for the CCHS/CCH game be competitive be competitive, but I'm assuming I'll be packing up my camera equipment and leaving the field early Friday night!

Even without Pike, I'm still taking DH.

Stardust, I put the players who made a difference in the Ryle vs. Cov Cath scrimmage on that thread. I saw that you asked, but I'm not sure if you ever go to seeing them. They're not legit stats since I wasn't recording, but it's the best I could do as just a spectator. Haha.

Even without Pike, Dixie needs and should win this game. If Dixie does not win, it is going to be a long season in 6A. I think NCC keeps it close in the first half without Pike, but Dixie pulls away in second half.

I wouldn't be as worried about NCC having enough gas as I would be Dixie. In the very recent past they've been gassed before the fourth quarter started in early games. I don't see Coach Eddie letting his team come into this game in anything but top condition. I've never seen this out of a Dixie team.

If Pike is going to be out for this game, this is Newport Catholic's game to lose IMO.

You're exactly right, this has been a problem in the past with Dixie.
