The varsity played for three quarters and Covington Catholic won 28-21. Back-ups came in and finished the game out 51-35.

Sounds like an entertaining scrimmage

NKY, did you go to this? I'm curious to know who did what for both teams. CCH opens next week against the Camels

Yes I was at the scrimmage. They played in game format (kickoffs, punts, PATs, everything was live). What all do you want to know?

Sorry I thought Stardust meant me. We both have nky in our names might get confusing.:lmao:

And I think that the final score was actually 51-28. Sorry for the mistake.

I'm not sure what the exact stats were though but I'll name some of the stand out players of the game that I saw.
Cov Cath
Blake Bir (QB): Threw the ball very well. Had a lot of passing yards and made very smart decisions when running the ball. Definitely able to lead a team.
Entire Offensive Line: Ryle's defensive linemen were being tossed around for most of the game. Cov Cath's O-Line seems to be very dominant. Had numerous pancake blocks.
Gabe Gray (RB): Ran all over the place. Scored a couple touchdowns and made great cuts when running the ball. Played a little bit of defense and had an interception as well.
Mitch McDowell (WR/P): Had 75-100 yards receiving. Had a diving catch on third and long to keep a drive alive to tie the game up. Also had a 30-40 yard catch on the final drive for Cov Cath. Then sealed a great block a few plays later on the outside for Gabe Gray to walk into the endzone to win the game with 4 seconds on the clock.
Brady Reese (DB): Definitely one of the fastest kids in NKY. Made great plays on defense. Either had 1 or 2 interceptions. Caught Travis Elliot on a kick return to save from scoring a touchdown.
Cov Cath Defense: All in all they surprised me. They played very well for what I expected, shutting Elliot down to just 94 yards rushing. Secondary played well, but gave up a couple key plays.
Ryle
QB (Not sure the name): I think this kid just transfered from Grant Co. from what I hear. Made great reads when Ryle passed and seems able to run the ball.
Travis Elliot (RB): Did what was expected of him. Ran the ball hard, making 2-3 people take him down. Scored a few TDs, but was held to 94 yards by Cov Cath's defensive line. Overall played very well and led the team, just like he is known to do.
Ryle Defense: Defensive backs seem pretty strong. They might struggle at D-Line and Linebackers.
This probably isn't everything, but this is most of what I can remember off the top of my head.
